You'll begin the program with a common first year to build core business skills, then in year two, choose from one of six majors:

• Accounting: understand the strategic role of accounting in measuring financial performance. Gain advanced knowledge in core accounting topics and quantitative skills. You’ll graduate with the courses you need to enter the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program and earn your designation.
• Financial Services: study for a career in financial advising, banking, investing or insurance for personal or corporate clients. In this unique major, you’ll complete exams for key industry certification like Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) and Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
• Human Resource (HR) Management: graduate ready to add strategic value to organizations in recruitment, compensation, employee training and development, change management and navigating diversity. In this Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA)-accredited program, you are exempt from writing the national exam for your Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
• Management: open the door to a diverse career with effective skills in managing people, processes and projects. In the BBA – Management degree, you learn about projects, operations, change and conflict through practical classes. Specialize your electives and learn the language of the industry with a minor in energy or construction.
• Marketing: learn to create and innovate to grow a business, launch new products and build brands – sometimes for actual clients. Master the marketing mix, embrace the latest trends and blend theory with real-world scenarios. Graduate with a professional portfolio and prepared for an exciting career.
• Supply Chain Management: learn to effectively manage supply chains using examples from real companies. You’ll delve deeply into procurement, logistics, transportation, inventory and warehouse management, supplied relations, contracts and performance analytics. You’ll graduate with unique skills provided by the only Supply Chain Management degree in southern Alberta.

The BBA also offers two optional minors:

• Construction Project Management: get the inside track for a business role in the robust Canadian construction industry. You’ll learn the process of managing large capital construction projects including risk and conflict on construction sites, design considerations and more.
• Energy, Oil and Gas: prepare to work in Alberta’s dynamic energy industry with courses form the state-of-the are MacPhail School of energy. You’ll learn the language of the industry with insights into technical, regulatory and economic factors.

Your final course is an Integrated Work Experience.  You’ll have the opportunity to apply learned knowledge and skills to real-world business situations, while further developing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication capabilities.

The BBA ensures you develop the business acumen, technical knowledge and soft skills employers are looking for — leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and communication. Finally, our close industry partnerships ensure that your learning is directly linked to the business community and real-world experiences.

The Healthcare Leadership program focuses on the critical areas of leadership and management development specific to healthcare.

Learners will develop core skills and competencies in leadership and management, conflict management and resolution, people management, effective communications, finances and economics, service and patient focus, healthcare governance, performance measurement, and other elements of leadership in a healthcare environment.To correspond with current trends in healthcare leadership, the program will offer unique skills in the areas of resilience and emergency planning and preparedness.

This program is comprised of interdisciplinary study, culminating in a capstone project that enables students to apply their knowledge toward addressing leadership challenges in their own organizations. The Healthcare Leadership program is led by experienced healthcare and business instructors, blending health topics with strategic leadership studies that prepare students to navigate the rapidly changing field of healthcare.

The Broadcast Systems Technology (BXST) program is a unique program and prepares you for employment installing and maintaining electronic and computer based equipment for the Broadcast industry. You will discover how to maintain and repair broadcast equipment as the electrical signal flows from the source through the audio and video mixing consoles to the station’s link to the transmitter and then to your home. You may also be involved in the design of facilities. You will also acquire professional and business skills and learn comprehensive technical applications that will help you achieve a great career in the broadcast industry.

You graduate ready to enter CPA's Advanced Certificate in Finance and Accounting program. You can apply to SAIT's Bachelor of Business Administration degree in order to pursue the CPA designation.

Create a career as an architectural technologist, construction coordinator or graphic designer for an architectural firm, residential home builder or construction company with this comprehensive program that includes hands-on training in drafting, design and building systems in our one-of-a-kind indoor house-building lab.

The Architectural Technologies program is designed to enable graduates to be able to perform and manage the fundamental duties of a junior architectural technologist. This diploma program is two years in length, consisting of four 15-week semesters. In the fourth semester, you refine your skills in a comprehensive capstone project.

The Architectural Technology program is learner-centred. We believe that students learn best when they construct knowledge and meaning from a collaboration between their learning experiences and their ideas. This type of applied experiential education means the development of the hand and mind through innovation, relevant content, engaged instructors and students who want to create meaningful careers.

The program employs a Project-Based Learning (PBL) model. This means that the “single subject inputs and assignments all relate to, and support the project work.” In this model, the repeated practice of going through a problem enables you to build up a repertoire of significant experiences. A critical feature of the program the focus on blending the science and practice of architectural technology.

You will learn by undertaking projects that simulate and simplify work practices in an educational setting modelled in a real-world environment. It is a setting where you get to practice.

Semesters are typically organized around a manageable core or central project. These projects will involve both individual and group-based work. In both instances, collaborative learning and teaching are practised. In all cases, there is an emphasis on learning by doing.

This program will develop critical thinking skills through the practice of confronting uncertainty. It allows one to see unfamiliar situations as familiar and this, in turn, allows one to have a feel or approach to problems that do not conform to rules.
