Many aspects of modern culture - from the literary elements of comedy and tragedy to our laws and ideals of democratic government — have their origins in Ancient Greece and Rome. Trent’s Ancient Greek and Roman Studies program gives students the opportunity to examine human behaviour and culture in the Ancient Mediterranean. Explore compelling topics surrounding warfare, class struggles, economy, religion, gender, cultural heritage, and the genius of the human spirit – issues as relevant today as they were in antiquity. 

Explore the environment at the molecular level and use your passion for chemistry to make a meaningful impact on the world. Your studies in Environmental Chemistry will introduce you to contemporary approaches to quantifying contaminants, along with the sources of chemicals, their cycles and the impact they have on organisms and ecosystems in the environment.

In this popular program, students navigate and engage with the theory, principles and practice that shape our ever-changing media landscape. In Media Studies, you’ll examine the influence of advertising and ideology, the political economy of media corporations, the foundations of media arts, and the ecological impact of media technologies.
