In Political Studies at Trent, you will find yourself debating and exploring ideas around democracy and global politics as you examine power relations and relationships between the state, business, and citizens. World Politics
Studies how human societies deal with various forms of global change (economic, cultural, and political). A principal objective is to enable students to develop an understanding of how the international system is shaped by the great historical turning-points and understand key concepts in international relations.
World Politics emphasizes a critical understanding of the many dimensions of ‘globalization’:

• The centrality of the European Union, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region in redefining world order

Gender and Women's Studies explores gender relations across cultures, throughout history, and in contemporary societies. In this program, you will explore a broad range of feminist perspectives on labour, health, history, popular culture, law, the environment, social policy, literature, and globalization. You will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of feminist thought and practice, including dynamic intersections with critical race, disability, decolonial and critical sexuality studies.

Media Studies
Media shape our view of the world and orient us in it. You can best navigate this environment by marrying theory and practice. With so many fascinating science programs offered at Trent, it can be difficult to know which degree to choose. Honours Science allows you to explore courses across various science programs before declaring a major or joint-major in your second year. Program Paths

As a student of Chemical Physics, you will explore the physics and chemistry of molecular and atomic-scale systems and condensed matter, and the techniques required to develop an understanding of the fundamental principles of our physical and chemical world. You will gain the knowledge and skills to conduct quantitative research, preparing you for employment or graduate studies in fields such as science, technology and engineering.

Focus on the theories and techniques of financial analysis as you prepare for a career in equity analysis, financial forecasting, investment banking, commercial banking, corporate planning, portfolio management, pension fund management and other opportunities in the financial sector. Part of the prestigious School of Graduate Studies at Trent University, the Financial Analytics M.Sc. is a new stream in the program of Applied Modelling and Quantitative Methods.
