Marketing Specialization

With a finger on the pulse of a company's clients and customers, marketing blends insight, creativity, attention to detail, and strategy to form an integral part of any business. A mix of lecture, case analysis, and hands-on projects, the School of Business marketing specialization provides students the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and skills at the strategic and tactical level, including key components such as product line management, media strategy development, interactive marketing, e-marketing, and more.

Mathematics is the language and enabler of science and technology, providing us with the necessary tools for analyzing economic trends, forecasting weather, doing research in the social sciences and other disciplines, and making informed business decisions.

As a student of mathematics, you will explore the many disciplines of pure and applied mathematics—logic, number theory, calculus, algebra, topology, analysis, modelling, and numeric methods. A degree in mathematics can lead you to many different careers options, including elementary teacher, scientific researcher, civil engineer, statistician, software developer, and economist.

With senior faculty teaching at all level and small class sizes, we ensure that our students have access to the best education offered by the top teachers and researchers. Throughout the program, our students have opportunities to work on research with their professors. Our Liberal Arts and Sciences core offers an unsurpassed breadth of education to equip graduates to be leaders in their chosen professions or to continue their education in graduate school.

The Christianity and Culture program has a strong interdisciplinary approach that gives our students a broad understanding of the relationship of Christianity to western culture by educating students in the historic and living traditions of the Christian Church.

Our program prepares students for graduate theological studies and provides a solid foundation for students who desire to enter ministry. Through core biblical studies classes, our students explore the relationship between the historic Christian faith and contemporary values, issues, and institutions. Our students deepen their understanding of the world through electives such as Philosophy, English, or History.

As a sociology major, you will gain the knowledge and skills to understand people and contemporary culture.

Our exceptional faculty have specialized in culture, race and ethnicity, social inequality, family, religion, and social change. Our sociology students also have the option of completing the Human Services certificate program. This program has an applied focus in sociology, with opportunities to choose from a wide variety of practicums in helping professions. Practicums include areas in social service agencies that are governmental, non-governmental, profit or non-profit organizations, or faith-based organizations.

Sociology students may complete a semester at the Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa, where they complete classes toward their degree while enjoying a rewarding internship.

As a History student at TWU, you’ll become aware of the processes of change and the development of peoples, institutions, environments, and ideas over time.

Awareness of history is a prerequisite for informed citizenship and for understanding how to live as a person of faith in the world. Furthermore, government and business employers are becoming more concerned about understanding political issues, social problems, and public attitudes. Knowledgeable and thoughtful historians can be effective leaders in gaining and sharing an understanding of culture and, thus, making informed decisions.

TWU’s Laurentian Leadership Centre in Ottawa gives you an opportunity to study Canada’s history while also completing an internship that enables you to apply your historical skills in a government or industry setting.

Biotechnology—creating technology or products from cellular and biomolecular processes, often DNA technology—is one of the fastest growing and innovative scientific sectors.

Our students study the science behind breakthrough discoveries that revolutionized gene editing, stem cell research, green energy, and big data in personalized medicine. Our students learn in the classroom and lab, as well as in a chosen field alongside biotechnology experts. Our students gain the knowledge, expertise, ethical framework, and contacts necessary to achieve a successful career in the life sciences. Our Biotechnology degree not only fast-tracks you for careers in life science, it also meets standard entry requirements for medical school and other professional schools.

On-campus, students have access to our new biology and analytical chemistry research laboratories, our confocal microscopy suite, and our on-campus Ecosystem Study Area to put classroom techniques to practice. Our students gain marketable skills and networks through co-op placements and practicums.

Much of today's world is dependent on computing systems and technology. From small businesses to multi-national corporations, from home to government, we rely heavily on computing professionals. The field continues to grow and change, and offers exciting opportunity to support and influence society.

With Trinity Western's liberal arts and sciences education, you can approach Computing Science with a larger appreciation for other disciplines and their relation to your field of study. Pure, analytical class work is matched with many opportunities for Computing Science students to gain hands-on experience, research & leadership opportunities. Experienced faculty lead active research opportunities, and a specialized computer lab is dedicated to senior projects. The ultimate goal is to prepare graduates to have a meaningful impact in the workplace.

In Political Studies, we consider the many ways in which we use power in human societies.

We examine the philosophic and practical aspects of the use and abuse of power, combining insights from both the humanities and social sciences. Our Political Studies program embraces both the social science and humanities aspects of political analysis, adding depth to your studies. As a student of political studies, you will deepen your understanding of political science and explore your rights and responsibilities as a citizen and Christian.

You will explore the organization of government and how this influences the amount and distribution of social and economic resources. In addition, you will develop an understanding of government institutions, legislative processes, foreign policy, international relations, and public law.

Our political studies program includes practicum courses, giving our students valuable experience. Our students have the option of studying at TWU’s Laurentian Leadership Centre and interning in Ottawa or at Parliament Hill, and participating in our Pre-Law Society or Model United Nations.
