Our Biology program offers a broad-based curriculum ranging from cell biology to ecology to pathogenesis to animal behaviour. You will develop an understanding of the scientific process through scientific inquiry and acquire transferable skills that will prepare you for graduate studies, professional programs, and a broad range of careers.

Augustana Campus, located in Camrose, Alberta, one hour southeast of Edmonton, is home to just over 1,000 students from across Canada and around the world. Augustana offers liberal arts and science degree programs in an intimate and personalized setting, with smaller class sizes and a more flexible academic schedule.

Augustana also offers a modified semester system called The Augustana Calendar. Each semester is comprised of a three-week session studying a single course, followed by a more traditional 11-week session studying up to four courses. Augustana’s Environmental Studies major integrates natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities into one unique program taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree.

You will choose to pursue either a General or Outdoor Education stream, granting the opportunity to take an outdoor or experiential education component, including backpacking and canoeing throughout Alberta and the Northwest Territories or studying at our Miquelon Lake Research Station. As a result, you will be equipped to forge a connection to the physical environment, the people, and organisms impacted by our society.

Augustana also offers a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences (Interdisciplinary) degree.

The Chemistry program at Augustana allows you to learn chemistry in a collaborative setting that emphasizes interaction between professors and fellow students in both the classroom and the lab.
