Biology is the study of life as it has evolved and is evolving on earth. All aspects of life are examined, from molecular processes inside cells, to large scale ecological interactions between organisms in their environment, and how the changing environment shapes these interactions.

English Literature courses cover literature from the medieval period to the present and provide instruction in theoretical approaches and critical methods. The program not only introduces students to an array of literary genres but also develops their creative and interpretive capabilities. The aim is to provide comprehensive historical coverage, to expand students' writing skills, and to promote the kind of analysis and argumentation that enables them to express their ideas clearly and effectively. The program also offers courses in Creative Writing.

Political Studies examines the dynamics of human interaction in which individuals and groups compete, and cooperate, to achieve their goals, in the context of competing visions, values and interests. It is therefore a study of power, particularly in connection with law and public policy. Because people often disagree about, say, civil liberties, sustainable development, and distributive justice, they divide themselves into various groups: nations, political parties, trade unions, business associations, environmental organizations, to mention but a few. Political studies tries to understand what happens when individuals and groups struggle with one another to achieve their different goals. Within states there are mechanisms called governments to oversee and guide political struggle, and studying politics can help us better appreciate why various types of government behave the way they do.

Genetics is the science of heredity, which deals with the mechanisms of inheritance. The Genetics program is interdisciplinary, comprising courses from Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, Arts, Medicine and Agricultural and Food Science. The study of Genetics is divided into three broad areas: Classical genetics, population genetics, and molecular genetics. Students will study advances in medicine, agricultural techniques, heritable IQ, genetically modified organisms, genetic counselling and gene therapy. The Honours and cooperative work-study (co-op) programs provide experience in government, private sector and research laboratories.

Bachelor of Arts - Canadian Studies is an interdisciplinary program that allows students to study Canada from a full range of disciplinary perspectives. It examines both the past and the present from political, economic, social and cultural disciplinary perspectives. Courses that focus on Canada in the Faculty of Arts are drawn from Anthropology, Economics, English, French, History, Icelandic, Labour Studies, Political Studies, Religion, Slavic Studies and Sociology. In addition, certain courses in other faculties including Art History and Geography and Environment, are also available form Canadian Studies credit.

The millennium from the end of the Roman empire to the Renaissance (500-1500 C.E.) was a formative period in the history of European civilization. This program offers students a broad approach to the period, through its literature, art, languages, history, music, and more.

Marketing involves learning about and understanding consumers, and then developing and implementing a plan that delivers products and services that meet the needs of both the consumer and producer. The Diploma in Dental Hygiene is a 3-year program that prepares students to work as dental hygienists in a variety of employment settings. Dental hygiene is a self-regulated health service profession concerned primarily with the prevention of oral disease and the promotion of optimum oral health. As a licensed professional, the dental hygienists' scope of practice is regulated by provincial legislation. The dental hygiene process of care consists of five components: assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate, which guide dental hygiene practice in every setting. Dental hygienists work in private dental offices, community health centres, educational institutions, personal care homes and various other environments.
