The Engineering Physics Diploma in Mechatronics is designed to teach you how to connect mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems to create smart technologies and drive innovation. The program is self-contained, enabling you to enter the workplace immediately, but gives you a background in math and science that is adaptable for completion of a full BSc degree in Physics at UFV, or an Engineering degree from another institution. You learn topics such as mechanics, circuit analysis, sensors and actuators, and optics, and acquire a strong theoretical grounding in physics.

UFV's Administration certificate is a part-time program that gives you a solid understanding of the fundamentals of business administration. 

The UFV Administration certificate provides essential grounding in business law, accounting, microeconomics, and industry-leading productivity software. A selection of electives allows you the freedom to explore your own areas of interest or specialize in one key field. You may also complete courses in public or municipal administration at other institutions or by correspondence, and transfer your credits to UFV. 

Develop your artistic skill, become a creative problem solver, and learn how to flourish in the creative arts industry by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). In your first year, you can explore a range of Fine Arts discipline while you complete the BFA general requirements in writing, logical reasoning, and science.

In your third and fourth years of study you deepen your knowledge by completing the requirements for your major, minor, or extended minors, and by selecting your choice of electives to meet the credential requirements of your degree.

UFV’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate program is an excellent foundation to purse a career working with young children.

Especially designed for students who are coming out of high school, and those already in the workforce the four-semester program takes you through basic courses in communication, interpersonal growth, human development, and the early childhood curriculum.

You explore the theories and current trends in physical, cognitive and psycho-social development, from conception to the age of eighteen. In addition, you are introduced to different recording techniques that have been developed from observing children’s social, play, language, motor, and cognitive development.

In the third and fourth semesters, you also complete a 200-hour introductory and a 200-hour advanced practicum where you put Early Childhood Education theories into practice, document your experience, and apply advanced competencies including parent interaction, self-evaluation, and peer evaluation.

The UFV Bachelor of Science (BSc) is a program of academic study for students pursuing educational or career goals in the natural sciences. The program requirements encourage a breadth of intellectual and academic experience, and at the same time, recognize the importance of concentrated study in a specific field or discipline. The BSc may serve as an educational goal in itself, as qualification for those who wish to pursue advanced degrees at other educational institutions, or as a qualification for employment.

The BSc consists of a minimum of 120 credits. To receive a Bachelor of Science degree, students must, at a minimum, complete the requirements for at least one of a science honours, science major, or double science minor, in addition to the General BSc requirements.

Develop your skills as an adult educator through UFV’s Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education — a mid-career professional development program.
Tailor your studies to fit your busy schedule. All courses are online with the exception of a few classroom sessions, with video conference access if you are a distance student. The Bachelor of Arts in Adult Education program is completely flexible and allows you to:

• Study part-time or full time
• Choose online courses on a rotating schedule
• Take evening and Saturday classes
• Earn credit for prior learning, including from non-traditional settings

The UFV Migration and Citizenship graduate diploma program builds on the knowledge acquired in the Migration and Citizenship graduate certificate.

To help you apply the knowledge acquired in the classrom and develop a reflexive and ethical practice, you have the opportunity to complete a practicum with a migration services agency and a capstone project.
Hands-on Practicum

A practicum will help to prepare you for a career in the broad fields of Migration and Citizenship by providing an opportunity to develop professional experience and skills in the context of a 300-hour field placement. During the practicum, you keep a weekly journal as a record of your experience to help with preparing your capstone project.

Practica are offered by a range of migration service providers and community organizations, and supervisory duties will be shared by the staff of these institutions. If you have prior work experience, portfolio-based Prior Learning and Recognition (PLAR) assessment is available.

Careers in the trades often lead to managerial and/or ownership positions, yet few trades people have the opportunity to academically prepare themselves with the skills required to own and operate their own business. This program provides individuals with the ability to leverage their prior learning (Trade certificate) and to augment prior learning with the fundamentals of business management theories and practices. The objective is to produce graduate students who are equipped to successfully function as managers and owners of a trade-related business in today's rapidly changing global environment.

Build a foundation to further your theatre education. Completing a two-year associate degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills to continue in the UFV Bachelor of Arts program, to transfer to other institutions, or to seek employment. Bring stories to life and gain hands on experience through a practicum in a professional UFV theatre production.
