Responding to a growing demand for qualified human resources (HR) professionals, the Bachelor of Human Resources Management (BHRM) degree will provide you with specialized training in all aspects of HR management. The BHRM is offered through the School of HRM at York, which is the largest university unit in the field in North America, housing the country's largest and top specialized faculty. SHRM is Canada's leader in HRM education.
You will benefit from a curriculum that draws on a range of disciplines including business, economics, sociology, history, social science, psychology, philosophy, political science, Industrial relations and law. This integrated approach will enable you to develop the research, analytical and management skills required by the profession.
The program builds on the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies' existing strength in the field including the largest core of HR management professors in Canada and outstanding HR research.
The BHRM degree is fully accredited with the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPAO) and students graduate having completed all of the mandatory courses to receive the HRPAO's professional designation.

If a student is not meeting the IELTS requirement for a particular academic program at York University, he/she has an option to go for the Pathway Program. After completing the Pathway Program students can meet the credit requirements and continue at York University.
YU Bridge Program
The YU Bridge is a program offered by the English Language Institute at the School of Continuing Studies. Under this program students receive a conditional letter of acceptance to York University.
Pre – Destination York
Pre – Destination York is an eight week long program offered by the School of Continuing Studies for students who have not succeeded in meeting the IELTS score requirements for a particular program. Once a student has qualified the pre – destination program he/she is eligible for the Destination York program. This program has to be completed prior to the beginning of your academic course at York.
Destination York
The Destination York program is an eight week long pathway program taken by students with low IELTS score in order to meet the requirements of their degree at York. This program has to be completed prior to the beginning of your academic course at York.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.

Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance
Designed to inspire, develop and enhance creative and critical thinking, the curriculum in AMPD's Department of Dance fosters deeply embodied and intellectual learning. Canada's largest and most comprehensive dance program educates innovative, thoughtful and articulate dance professionals, prepared to be engaged leaders in diverse environments.
Program Structure
Dance students take a common first year and then branch into one of two streams according to their interests and goals. Upper-year students may audition to join the department's resident company, the York Dance Ensemble. They also have the opportunity to gain hands-on training in lighting design for dance, to embrace emerging media and integrate technology into their dance practices, and to extend their professional experience through field placements, collaborative research and guest teaching.

This stream centres on studio work in contemporary/modern dance, with options in urban, contemporary/ballet and world dance forms. Students in this stream explore practical and theoretical aspects of teaching dance in a variety of communities and settings, including innovative approaches and experience working with children, youth, adults in all stages of life, marginalized individuals and people with disabilities.
