Chitkara School of Health Sciences (CSHS) has introduced a 4-Year full-time program in Optometry, which deals with the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system.

The program is envisaged to develop a multipurpose ophthalmic manpower at paramedical level. The program will enable a student to become a competent person in providing service as an Optometrist at Tertiary eye care center, specialty eye clinic such as low vision clinic, orthoptic clinic, contact lens clinic, Optical outlets, can also provide Ophthalmic Assistant to the community as an Community optometrist, and can also provide services at Multinational Vision Care Companies. Our training methodology will provide students with integrated inputs that will help develop their conceptual & analytical skills, and a strong technical knowledge base, in order to prepare them for a bright future in the eye care sector of the Healthcare Industry.

The program provides students with advanced knowledge of educational foundations, learning theories, multiculturalism, inclusion and critical issues in education. It offers teachers essential knowledge and skills to support emerging professionals in their fields while providing a flexible and individualised academic experience.

The 2-year program is divided into 4 semesters. Some of the important courses that are part of this Advanced Teacher Education Program include Philosophy of Education, Human Development, Learning & Teaching, Curriculum Studies, Research in Education, School Leadership, and Technology Literacy.

The two-year master’s program offers specialised qualification with which you can focus on both the technical and artistic aspects of communicating through a range of visual media. The program offered at Chitkara University has a strong focus on the application of artistic and computer-aided design skills to the interpretation of commercial and technical information for the public. 

The M.Des program helps candidates develop their research skills, enhance their experimental practice, construction techniques, equipment and material, and portfolio skills about their respective specialization in design.

Our 2-Year Post Basic B. Sc Nursing at Chitkara School of Health Sciences is a bridge course offered to general Nursing Diploma holders to equate them with the graduate nurses. The graduates will be prepared to assume responsibility in the primary, secondary and tertiary care of people as professional nurses.

The program will help students develop an understanding of the philosophy, objectives and responsibilities of Nursing as a profession. The purpose of the course is to orient the students to the current concepts involved in the practice of Nursing and developments in the Nursing profession, integrating the knowledge of various fields and provide a holistic care to patients and their families through the promotion of healthcare, prevention of disease spread and infection, care during illness and rehabilitation at the recovery.

The aim of this program is to provide skilled and professional training in the diagnosis field of Medical Laboratory Science. The different specialisations of this program train students in specialised technologies which make them competent to excel in their chosen field of interest. Students are trained to handle advanced lab equipment and perform accurate diagnostics procedure and their reporting, with great emphasis on Quality Control & Quality Assurance. After the successful completion of this program, students will be able to proficiently supervise and perform the full range of Clinical Biochemistry and Medical Microbiology Laboratory tests.
