The Ayurveda Department at DY Patil University is unique because we focus on inter and intradepartmental association so that we can create and facilitate the best treatment for a number of diseases based on an amalgamation of topics in healthcare. Ayurveda is known to get rid of chronic diseases and thus our institute is very research intensive, constantly striving for innovation in treatment practices.

As a part of the coursework, awareness programs are arranged regularly with the help of PG students, to spread awareness about lifestyle disorders arising due to excessive use of electronic gadgets, like computer vision syndrome, amblyopia, refractive error in early age, squint, allergic disorders etc. We assist in the implementation of the national program for the Prevention of Blindness & Rehabilitation of the visually impaired.

This is a post-graduate program of 3 years tenure , recognised by the Medical Council of India. The program involves rotational postings in the departments of Pathology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, General Medicine, TB and Chest Medicine and Dermatology. Besides General Pathology, the student is exposed to quality work in Cytology, Dermatopathology, Neuropathology, Oncopathology and Haematopathology. The department has a well equipped laboratory with state of art facilities and a dedicated post-graduate section with a penta-head microscope and well equipped library that is open round the clock.

The student thus gains from the state of art infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced teachers . The practical training entails, diagnostic interpretation of laboratory tests, histopathology and cytology. In addition to this the student gains by interaction with clinical services, understanding of technical methods, instrumentation, information systems, quality assurance and Laboratory management. This extensive practical training is backed by impartation of sound theoretical knowledge via the medium of lectures, seminars, case discussions and journal clubs.

The program gives adequate clinical and research experience to the student . It facilitates the development of excellent diagnostic skills in addition to a sound judgement in the practice of Pathology and all its sub-specialities

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word “Yuj” meaning to yoke, join or unite. This implies joining or integrating all aspects of the individual – body with mind and mind with soul – to achieve a happy, balanced and useful life, and spiritually, uniting the individual with the supreme. Naturopathy, or naturopathic medicine, is a form of alternative medicine based on a belief in vitalism, which posits that a special energy called vital energy or vital force guides bodily processes such as metabolism, reproduction, growth, and adaptation.

For Postgraduate students, efforts are taken to simplify the subjects like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita & Ashtanga Hridaya. Students are subjected to daily commentary reading of above subjects and discussed in detail. We help them understand the finer points of the subject. Students are given assignments or short topics for compilation. Topics are given in accordance with their dissertation subjects. Research Methodology is taught according to syllabus. Topics are discussed keeping in mind research in Ayurveda. The importance of research is impressed upon the students so as to inculcate the relevance of research in their minds. If topics are not clear they are explained repeatedly and question answer sessions are arranged. We try to stimulate curiosity in the minds of the students without which research and innovation is not possible. Practicals of Research Methodology are conducted in accordance with the syllabus.

The M. D. in Ayurveda Samhita is a Non – Clinical course provides research training in the study of classical texts of Ayurveda, their scientific exploration and validation. The aim of the course is to provide orientation of specialties and super specialties of Ayurveda and to produce experts and specialist who can be competent and efficient teachers, physicians, surgeons in various field of Ayurveda.

This is the foremost Ayurved College in Maharashtra where the medium of instruction is English with an intake capacity of 100 students. The college is well developed with efficient teaching faculties & hi- tech infrastucture fulfilling requirements of CCIM. Various facilities are provided to students like library with national & international journals subscribed on regular, practical & demonstrations with the help of tech friendly & easy to learn atmoshphere.BAMS Full Form is Bachelor of Ayurvedic, Medicine and Surgery. BAMS course is an UG level degree course to train students in the field of ayurveda and ayurvedic medicine. 

This is a postgraduate program of 3 years duration recognised by the Medical Council of India. It involves rotational postings in the Departments of Anatomy , Orthopaedics and Radiology.

The Department is equipped with a state of art Dissection Hall, Histology Laboratory, and a Departmental Research Laboratory. The Anatomy Museum has an extensive and varied collection with various sections pertaining to Comparative Anatomy, Radiology, Embryology, Neuroanatomy and Gross Anatomy. The student gains proficiency in Dissection, Histological techniques, Histology, Embryology , Osteology, Radiological and Cross Sectional Anatomy under the supervision of experienced teachers.

The student is trained extensively in Pedagogical skills by being actively involved in teaching undergraduate students under supervision. This extensive practical training is supplemented with providing the student with a sound theoretical base with the aid of lectures, seminars, micro-teaching sessions and journal clubs. The course gives an excellent opportunity to the student to study Anatomy, its application and all its subspecialities in detail. It facilitates the development of Pedagogical and Research Skills, which help the student become a teacher par excellence.

It Prepares graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives at a basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services. It also develops nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of facilitating individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice. They are also expected to assume the role of teacher, supervisor, and manager in a clinical/public health setting.
