The Master of Arts program in Journalism trains budding and experienced journalists to go deeper and equips them with subject-area expertise, so they can explain complicated issues to the public. Students develop an intellectual grounding in their concentration that enables them to ask more informed questions, evaluate evidence for competing theories and produce sophisticated and nuanced stories. This MA gives you the practical skills to work as a journalist at the highest level in broadcast, print and online. We will learn what news means, and where it comes from. We will give you the ability to write compelling features and interviews. We’ll also be focusing on the kinds of questions you need to ask – of the individual, the state or the organs of power. And we address how the new digital world has transformed the way we go about journalism, adding new platforms and new technical skills.

Master in Business Administration (MBA) is a minimum 2 year full time programme in management. The programme offers options to specialize or earn a major or a minor in a pre-specified functional area. It brings an internationally benchmarked learning context. It primarily aims to help students up to 5 years of experience including fresh graduates, and/or students and with family business background emerge as business managers and leaders.

The post-graduate course in law is aimed at providing advanced education and training to law graduates. The curriculum is diligently designed to cater to the needs of the students. Currently, School of Law is running LL.M. in three different streams i.e. Corporate and IP Laws, Cyber Laws and Cyber Security and Criminal Law and Criminal Justice.

Course Outcomes

• The basic agenda of LL.M. is to provide an academically rich atmosphere to the students so as to enable them to gather deeper insight into specific fields of law
• The course intends to prepare the students for academic and research field as well as to foster the professional needs of a law graduate

BA Liberal Arts (Economics) is a course in applied economics and alongside the academic training in order to sharpen essential skills in marketing and communication, the students undergo corporate summer training, to get a better understanding of business environment and real organizational problems. This course provides students with the necessary conceptual and analytical skills to understand a broad range of themes in business and economics. It prepares students for a wide range of careers in private and public sector organisations.

The degree is suited to students who wish to pursue a career in which knowledge of law and legal system is of major importance.

It is a five year course comprising of ten semesters on completion of which a student earns a graduate degree in law. This course is designed to acquaint a student with the conceptual and operational parameters of general principles of law and its operation in the society. These courses help to understand how central and state governments function and how legislations are enacted and enforced. Apart from the traditional ways like lecture, assignments etc teaching pedagogy will cover up most up-to-date methods such as research, case studies, presentations and discussions.

The Master in Public Policy and International Affairs program equips future decision-makers with the knowledge and practical skills to make sound International policy decisions. The course aims to provide comprehensive analysis of various streams in international affairs like conflict resolution, diplomacy, human rights, international finance and international law. This programme student acquires the substantive knowledge, practical skills and real-world experience to address the big issues of international affairs. The curriculum integrates extensive experiential learning, including capstone workshop projects with organizations around the world. Students pursue a customizable core curriculum, including a wide range of courses on international politics and political economy. Students also choose from a broad range of majors: International Security Policy, International Finance and Economic Policy, Economic and Political Development, Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy, Energy and Environment, and Urban and Social Policy.

The course in MA Psychology intends to provide the students the basic training required to become practicing psychologists in their selected specialized area. The course covers the study of mind processes, motives, reactions, feelings, conflict resolution, crisis management, groupthink, motivations, and nature of the mind. It enables the students in conducting research work in different areas of Psychology and prepares them to undertake higher responsibilities in their professional field. The emphasis of the program lies in promoting critical and applied thinking in students in diverse areas such as counseling psychology, clinical psychology, social psychology, and industrial/organizational psychology. It is expected that the students will be able to design, conduct and analyze data through exposure to various research techniques and demonstrate competence in interpreting and critiquing scholarly work in their specialized area. The designed course structure enhances the ability to practically apply various psychological concepts and skills in innovative way. It also enables students to differentiate between the various forms of psychological assessments, testing and their appropriate application. In addition to this, students will imbibe the ethical code for psychologists and exhibit beneficence towards their clients in all respects.

The degree provides the students with a wide range of managerial skills and competence in wide areas of commerce. It equips student with the knowledge of accounting principles, business laws, economic policies and other aspects of trade and business. B. Com is an undergraduate degree designed to inculcate business acumen in students with a view to giving them a hold on theoretical aspects of different concepts of commerce and finance.
