It focuses on biology and chemistry along with principles of genetics, microbiology, cellular biology, process design, genetic engineering, and their applications in healthcare or food production. This program prepares the students for biotechnology careers by encompassing a broad range of subjects. Along with the assurance of the competency of the necessary knowledge, the course work fosters problem-solving and critical thinking skills which prepare the student to take on various design and engineering challenges. The field of biotechnology uses living organisms to generate controlled processes or their final products.
