The PhD programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a research-based programme. The research can be in any of the broad areas in ECE. The core strength of the institute is currently in the following core areas: signal/speech /image processing, VLSI and embedded systems, robotics, and communications. The mian emphasis of this programme is on a thesis. Work towards the thesis requires a good understanding the state of art in an area, problem formulation, original contributions based on analysis with sufficient mathematical rigour and validation. The research is expected to be of sufficient quality to be publishable in leading international journals and top conferences pertaining to an area of research. This programme has a limited amount of course work that can be completed in one year. The course work is aimed at providing a student with sufficient breadth and to carry out research. The main emphasis is on the research work leading to a thesis. Typically students decide on their research area and faculty advisor within the first year while doing course work.

The academicians, researchers and industry persons require a thorough and deep knowledge of Chemistry so as to gain skills for problem solving and face significant challenges at the interface of Science, Engineering and Technology. Keeping this in consideration, M.Sc. Chemistry is based upon choice base credit system with an inter/multidisciplinary approach to provide insights in various aspects of Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Computational Chemistry. The program is based upon cultivation of the interest of the students in Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry and enabling them to build a successful career in academics, industry or research. The programme includes sub-disciplines of Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Photochemistry and more. The program carries out overall development of the students by providing the intellectual, scientific and practical exposure through industrial/scientific visits, seminars, workshops, trainings, dissertation etc.

B.A. (Hons.) in Sociology is an undergraduate program which deals with various aspects of social behavior and its consequence on modern society. Sociology is a branch of study which investigates into multiple aspects of society and social behavior. A Bachelor degree in Sociology teaches the fundamental concepts related to structure of society, organization of society, and how humans interact within these constructs. The basic subject matter of Sociology concerns itself with topics related to family structure, global warfare, religious cults, social class, race and gender etc.

M.Tech. in Electrical Engineering is a 2- year full- time course divided into 4 semesters involving an advanced study of electrical and electronics engineering, computers, and communication, besides that of electronics, electricity, transmission, and generation.
