Masters in Microbiology is a two year course that offers two specialization streams namely Food and Environmental Microbiology and Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

Medical Microbiology comprises and integrates the fields of immunology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology. The common bond between them is the focus on the causes of infectious diseases and on the reactions of the host to the pathogens. The objective of specialized course of medical microbiology is to provide in-depth knowledge of the etiologic organisms causing diseased and the pathogenic mechanisms leading to clinically manifest infections into its host. This knowledge is a necessary prerequisite for the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of any infectious diseases, indispensable for both biotech, pharma industries and academic sectors.

As pharmaceutical microbiology is crucial to the manufacture and production of drugs, biologics and devices, it is absolutely important that people working in these industries have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiological principles, techniques, processes and strategies in order to avoid any potentially costly and life-threatening failures and consequences.

B.Sc (H) Physics, with specialization in Astronomy and Astrophysics and Computational Physics would be a full time 3-year undergraduate program in Physics. Thus, the students in this program would not only study the conventional modules in Physics at undergraduate level, but would also study modules on Astronomy and Astrophysics/Computational Physics.

It intends to provide support to industry 4.0 with a balanced content on Procurement, Materials Management, Global Supply-Chain Management, Multi-Modal Transportation, Retail, Logistics Information System, and Spreadsheet Modelling.

Plant Biotechnology assist developing new varieties of crop like genetically engineered crop, marker assisted selection, genetics and genomics, etc. This field of study helps in identifying and mapping genes, discovering their functions and transferring desired gene to specific plants as per requirement. This branch of study also focuses on all aspects of genetic engineering process to enhance efficiency, expression and precision of added gene.

This programs’ problem-based learning mechanism, emphasizes on genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Besides the curriculum for Plant Biotechnology planned with theoretical studies, students will be having hands on experience performing some of the techniques used to detect genetic variations and its implications in plants. This program offers basic technologies of Virtualization (enabler of Cloud), infrastructure less computing at client side by IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)-by Vmware, Virtual Box, Openstack etc., PaaS (Platform as a service), having platforms for development environments, SaaS(Software as a Service), deploying software on cloud enabled infrastructure, performance tuning of deployed objects-checking efficiency and security in Cloud.
