B.Sc. Geology Hons. program provides specialization in Geoinformatics

Geoinformatics is the science and the technology, which develops and applies information science infrastructure to solve geoscience and engineering related problems. It deals with the structure and character of spatial information, its capture, classification and qualification, storage, processing, description and propagation, including the infrastructure required for optimal use of this information. Earth science increasingly relies on digital spatial data acquired from remotely sensed images analyzed by GIS photograph interpretation, and web mining.  Geoinformatics combines geospatial analysis and modeling, development of geospatial databases, information systems design, human-computer interaction and both wired and wireless networking technologies. Geoinformatics is analyzed using geo-computation and geo-visualization for fields such as urban planning and land use management.

Internet of Things is generating a large amount of data daily. The reciprocity of such huge amount of data in the form of text or image or audio can be beneficial for both Big Data Analytics and IoT systems. This makes IoT useful for companies that rely on data analytics to improve their systems. Forensic science is a highly advanced research method used in criminal and civil investigations to address critical questions. An integral part of the criminal justice system, it includes techniques such as the analysis of fingerprints, DNA analysis, and ballistics and explosives.

This course has been designed keeping in mind the close interrelation between law and forensic science to make students well-versed with the fundamental and advanced concepts of forensic science and its application in legal jurisprudence.

Apart from essential computer Science concepts such as algorithm, data structures, OOPS concepts with java and advanced Java and python, with databases and software engineering design processes, students pursuing Banking, Financial Services and Insurance will also learn banking application architectures, Banking data analytics along with products and processes in Banking sectors. Propulsion and Engine systems plays a vital role in development of various automobile, transport vehicles, aircrafts, rocket engines, ships and navel transport vehicle. The major source of energy to these systems is through the combustion and hence the design of combustion chamber plays a vital role. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) explores the design, monitoring and analysis of propulsion and engine systems. The core part of the course consists of modules, which are considered to build the necessary foundation of the combustion modelling. The advancements in the combustion technology, challenges in designing advance combustion chambers like burners, IC engine Combustion systems, jet engine combustion systems, fuel injectors, supersonic combustors in Scramjets and Rocket engine combustions. The Modelling of these systems are associated with various challenges like flame stabilization studies, turbulence combustion, Spray Systems, multiphase combustion, Microgravity combustion, flames and reactive flows, This module covers Recent Trends in Modelling of Combustion and its available numerical models and computational tools along with the expectation for further developing CFD techniques in the field.

This course has been designed to examine the interactions between food production and consumption, health, and environment through environmental and food justice lenses. Building on concepts developed in food systems, it explores topics such as public health disparities and their structural causes, environmental toxins in the food system and their impact on workers and consumers, as well as policies that have or could affect these outcomes, in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Apart from conceptual discussion and debates, the program also includes field trips and/or guest lectures to give practical experience to the learners.

The specialization in marketing prepares the students on subjects like Social and Digital Media Marketing, Advertising and Sales Promotion etc. The emphasis is on developing critical as well as analytical thinking in the specialized area though case study, projects, workshops, masterclasses by industry experts, among other pedagogical tools.

Integrated B.Sc.- M.Sc. (Physics) with specialization in Material Science aims to equip students both with the fundamental as well as advanced concepts in Physics as well as hands on training in synthesis and characterization of novel materials - finding applications in domains including but not limited to health, sanitation, defense, clean energy harvesting (solar cells, fuel cells, hydrogen storage, etc.), aerospace, semiconductors industry, etc. Students will also have opportunity to learn computational materials science, in which they will be equipped with various simulation software /techniques and numerical algorithms to simulate materials via computers.
