BA (Hons) Economics aims to develop the necessary skills to analyze economic phenomena. Students will develop the necessary skills to empirically validate economic theories. The significance of the Programme lies in the statistical methods in research which will develop research-based skills to construct and analyze qualitative and quantitative data. The Programme will enable the students to understand the economic issues at the local and global level and also to critically analyze government Policies and Programmes announced and implemented to resolve the issues.

Environmental Engineering encompasses ecology, geology, chemistry, biology, hydrology, microbiology and considered to be a vast field. It’s major emphasis is on protection of all living organism, their health and environment. It is a discipline related to Civil Engineering as well as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Environmental engineers are involved in the field of water and waste management, and involved in the major challenges like global warming, acid rain, ozone depletion, and water and air pollution. That requires a specialized training in the field and owing to this Uttaranchal University offers a post graduate program in the field of Environment Engineering.

Program curriculum has been designed to fulfil the growing demand for individuals who can respond to the advanced knowledge needs of industry, research organisations, and academics. It is focused on research and development, as well as exposure to and experience working with cutting-edge technology. Students in this curriculum are exposed to cutting-edge technology, such as, water treatment plant design and waste water treatment facility design, Solid waste management, as well as, understanding of national and international environmental standards. Apart from that students will be exposed to practical learning through lab and field work, Dissertation projects and working on problems that are directly related to human health and societal concerns related to environment.

An operation theatre (OT) technologist is an essential component. Operating theatre technology training is required to become a trained professional.  An OTT, or Operation Theatre Technician, is a healthcare worker who assists in the preparation and maintenance of operating rooms and equipment. It’s a support function that entails assisting the surgical and anaesthesia teams during operations. An OTT is responsible for Assist surgeons within an operating room, maintain and prepare an operating room for operations, set up instrument trolleys for surgeries, clean and disinfect surgical equipment after surgeries, handle and transport patients to wards and recovery rooms after surgeries

B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Big Data Analytics is a 4 years specialised undergraduate degree program designed to ensure students learn about current and new Big Data-related techniques and ideas, such as, statistics, data mining, data storage, and data visualisation. Engineering Mathematics, Data Structures, Data Analytics, and other computer science-related topics are covered in the proposed specialized program.

Student enrolled in the program will work on the latest statistical algorithm, analytics tools, programming for predictive models during their laboratory sessions to acquire complete knowledge of the subjects. Institute encourage students to gain practical knowledge by various expert guest lectures by data scientists, Predictive modellers, statisticians and analytic professionals. Industrial visits are also organized for students to give them an exposure to kind of work executed in the industry related to Big Data Analytics.

Food industry is a major industry which requires highly skilled professionals to ensure the food quality, safety and worldwide management. The aim of this course is to provide in-depth study of various areas related to food technology that will enable the students to understand food composition, their nutritional, microbiological, processing and organoleptic aspects. This program also upskills the students in the processing techniques by in hand training in food industries. They are also taught about the importance of food plant sanitation, international and national food laws and regulations applicable in food industry.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology is a 3-year program with an enriched curriculum comprising of basic courses (cell biology, biochemistry, animal and plant physiology, developmental biology) and applied courses (plant and animal biotechnology, bioinformatics, bioprocess technology and others). Specific courses target skill development, employability and entrepreneurship potential of biotechnology.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology is an undergraduate three-year degree programmes are designed with the goal of providing expertise to the students in the field of Food Science and Technology. This program will provide students with in-depth knowledge of the Technical, scientific and professional approaches towards the physicochemical, microbiological, engineering and textural aspects of food. The program includes detailed study of subjects such as Advance Food Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Technology of Cereals, Principles of Food quality, Bakery Technology, Technology of Fruits, Vegetables and Plantation Crop, Technology of Milk and Milk Products, Technology of Food Preservation, Food Microbiology and Engineering etc. Courses on English communication, seminar presentation, reasoning skill, personality development targets an overall improvement in the aptitude of student along with enhancement of communication skills.  Industrial visits, participation in seminar/conference, training programmes impart additional technical skills. Dissertation specifically inculcates research aptitude and scientific writing skills.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics  is an innovative programme in Mathematics at Undergraduate Level. The three-year undergraduate programme provides a firm foundation in the techniques of modern mathematics and classic mathematics. The content of this program is meticulously prepared to promote the application of Mathematics to physical problems, industrial issues in multidisciplinary environments. This programme would produce graduates who possess analytical and mathematical skills to find solutions to the complex problems of business, accounting and engineering.
