Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) is an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree. An ITE qualification is the requirement to become a beginning teacher in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Approved and monitored by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand, this degree is designed for those who would like to pursue a career as a qualified early childhood education teacher.

This degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus, and a flexible structure. Students can choose from a range of majors and elective modules, and will gain a broad range of business skills, as well as specialist skills and work experience in their chosen major. Students will have the opportunity to undertake collaborative real-world projects with students from other disciplines, and with industry.

Supply Chain Logistics

In the first year, students will complete the eight core modules required for the applied management degree. These will give students the important broad skills needed to excel in any area of business. In the second year, students will take three modules for the supply chain logistics major, choose three other modules, which can be towards a second major, and two more core modules - Applied Management and Research Methodology. In the third year, students will study two more supply chain logistics modules and two other modules towards a second major. Students will also apply their skill on work placement with a local business.

This program is designed to extend and deepen an individual’s professional practice and apply an advanced body of knowledge in a range of fields of health and social practice which include, but is not limited to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, social work, counselling and human services. It will offer learning opportunities designed to inform your practice and develop valued knowledge in Treaty-based practice. You will learn and grow professionally while undertaking interactive and experiential-based education.

This postgraduate diploma will extend students' existing qualifications and will allow higher-level professional development that is interprofessional. Students will gain the skills to develop, analyse and generate solutions to complex and sometimes unpredictable problems. This qualification is relevant to practitioners from a wide range of practice contexts, and the resulting interprofessional interaction of health and social services practitioners will enhance and strengthen service delivery in the region.

An interprofessional context will enable graduates to extend their capacity for critical and professional/clinical reasoning for specialist practice, leadership, and management in complex professional environments.

Students in this program will learn the knowledge and skills to deliver quality information technology services and develop effective communication skills to support and enhance various organisations and industries.

Students can choose to specialise in one of the following five specialisations:

Network engineering
For those seeking a career in the field of network engineering, network administration, cyber and network security.

Software engineering
For those seeking a career in software engineering, software development, big data and analytics, mobile applications development, and software testing.

Web development
For those seeking a career in web design/development, web applications development, and mobile applications development.

This programme is for those passionate about social justice who want to support and empower individuals, families, wh?nau, and communities. Students will gain the skills to provide advice and support and learn how to advocate for individuals and groups. They will help their communities realise their full potential to function independently and positively in society.

This four-year programme combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning. You will gain the knowledge base, skills, and attributes required to practice in a variety of social work fields and environments such as schools, hospitals, community groups, or government organisations.

Students will develop the skills to:

• Promote the principles of human rights and social justice and promote social change.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals in multi-disciplinary teams, organisations, and communities.
• Critically reflect on their own social work practice through supervision, peer review, and self-evaluation.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with different user groups.
• Provide or facilitate social services in fields such as healthcare, schools, government, and non-government agencies.
• Undertake their practice according to the ethical and legislative boundaries.
• Increase their social and political awareness, and think critically about the structures, behaviours, and processes that disadvantage and oppress people.

The Bachelor of Social Work programme will prepare graduates to enter the social work workforce at a beginning practitioner level with provisional registration with the Social Workers Registration Board.

Students in this program will advance their ability to innovate in the workplace allowing them to immerse themselves into the enterprise environment and gain a postgraduate qualification whilst in employment. This program offers an accessible academic and professional career development opportunity in research and innovation at postgraduate level, relevant to all disciplines.

Agritechnology
Agritechnology is about the science of agriculture, including soil and plant analysis, and plant and animal production. People who choose this pathway can work in positions as researchers or laboratory technicians with a focus on agriculture.

Students in the Bachelor of Design programme will develop their creativity, innovation, and design capabilities to find new ways to visually and strategically solve challenges for brands and organisations.

Visual communication
Students will add value to brands or organisations by creating artwork and graphic designs for digital media, magazines, brochures, advertising, packaging and products. They will learn:

• Graphic design for print, package, and publication
• Logo design and brand identity development
• Illustration
• Web and interactive design and motion graphics

This program will provide students with the knowledge and skills for a career in information technology. It is equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Applied Information Technology, so if students choose to progress to the degree they will only need to undertake another two years of study.

Students will develop an awareness of the IT environment and an appreciation of the needs of users. Students will develop the skills to work in roles such as computer technician, help desk and technical support officer, entry-level network administrator, network engineer, and applications support analyst, focusing on technical support. This programme incorporates the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology.

The Master of Applied Information Technology enables students to undertake an extended study program in their specialised information technology field. It requires 180 credits and has two pathways:
