The Bachelor of Applied Management degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus and a flexible structure.

This degree's practical focus increases employment opportunities when students graduate, with small class sizes helping to build strong one-on-one learning relationships with tutors.? The flexible structure allows students to choose from a range of majors and a wide variety of elective modules.

Accounting:

In this pathway, students will learn the theory and practice of accountancy, critical thinking, decision-making, and business analysis. The course also includes financial reports and business tax regulations. Before they graduate, students will complete an accounting project for a real business as their final assignment. There are two accounting pathways to choose from - the non-CAANZ/CPA pathway, which has greater flexibility, or the CAANZ/CPA pathway, which allows the potential to become a chartered accountant.

Students in this program will learn the knowledge and skills to deliver quality information technology services and develop effective communication skills to support and enhance various organisations and industries.

Students can choose to specialise in one of the following five specialisations:

Network engineering
For those seeking a career in the field of network engineering, network administration, cyber and network security.

Software engineering
For those seeking a career in software engineering, software development, big data and analytics, mobile applications development, and software testing.

Web development
For those seeking a career in web design/development, web applications development, and mobile applications development.

This program is for those with a degree in another subject who want to progress their career into accounting.

Students will learn the theory and practice of accountancy, critical thinking, decision-making, and business analysis. The course also includes financial reports and business tax regulations. Before completing their study, students will complete an accounting project for a real business as their final assignment.

To enrol in this program potential students will need to demonstrate knowledge of recording and processing financial transactions using a double entry accounting system and the preparation of financial statements, as well as show an understanding of analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports.

Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) is an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) degree. An ITE qualification is the requirement to become a beginning teacher in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Approved and monitored by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand, this degree is designed for those who would like to pursue a career as a qualified early childhood education teacher.

The Master of Nursing Science (Pre-registration) (MNSc (Pre-reg)) programme is a 4-semester two-year programme. The MNSc (Pre-reg) allows degree qualified students a direct and faster route to a nursing career. On successful completion, graduates will be awarded a Master of Nursing Science (Pre-registration) and be eligible to apply to the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) to sit the State Final Examination to become a registered nurse.

Students in the Bachelor of Design programme will develop their creativity, innovation, and design capabilities to find new ways to visually and strategically solve challenges for brands and organisations.

Spatial design
Students will develop designs focusing on functional interior spaces and design fundamentals that span across both residential and commercial disciplines while learning the skills needed to thrive in the industry, including pitching to clients and overseeing a project from start to finish. They will learn:

• Design fundamentals for residential and commercial spaces
• People and communication skills to pitch to clients
• Construction knowledge and project management strategies

In this program, students will gain a strong foundation of knowledge across a broad range of different information technology skills, as well as an advanced level of expertise in a selected specialisation.

Students will undertake core modules that cover the fundamental skills required for a career in IT, for example, software engineering, database architecture, web development, business analysis, communications technology, operating systems, systems administration, and network engineering. Students will also gain practical, industry-aligned skills that employers demand from our graduates as well as new and emerging fields including cloud computing, big data and analytics, DevOps, business intelligence, agile development, web and mobile app development, games development, AR/VR, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, and security.

Our degree is also designed to provide students with a broad skill-set and holistic understanding of the wider context of the IT business domain and the global IT industry, as well as specialist knowledge in a specific area. Technologies and tools used within the degree are ever updating but currently include python, C#.net, Visual Studio, Java, Android development, MS Server, Active Directory, Unity3D, Unreal, Cisco, Fortinet, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Laravel, PHP, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Power BI, AWS, Azure, Hadoop, and much more.

Students in this program will develop the professional skills required to work within the complex and interprofessional social service and health communities. Additional to what many other counselling program offer, it includes a mental health and addictions focus. Placement is a significant element of this program.

Visual communication
Students will add value to brands or organisations by creating artwork and graphic designs for digital media, magazines, brochures, advertising, packaging and products. They will learn:

• Graphic design for print, package, and publication
• Logo design and brand identity development
• Illustration
• Web and interactive design and motion graphics

This programme is for those who want to enhance their degree or work experience with knowledge and skills in public relations, advertising, and media practices. Students will work on live projects with real clients, with support from tutors with industry experience.

To be successful in public relations or advertising, students must be an excellent communicator, a problem solver, a lateral thinker, interested in contemporary issues, creative and able to work under pressure. The Graduate Diploma in Communication (Level 7) can help develop students' abilities in these areas and prepare them for a career in these exciting industries.
