Human Resource Management

Students in this program will advance their ability to innovate in the workplace allowing them to immerse themselves into the enterprise environment and gain a postgraduate qualification whilst in employment. This program offers an accessible academic and professional career development opportunity in research and innovation at postgraduate level, relevant to all disciplines.

Students in this program will develop the professional skills required to work within the complex and interprofessional social service and health communities. Additional to what many other counselling program offer, it includes a mental health and addictions focus. Placement is a significant element of this program.

Within this degree program, students will develop the skills to:

Students in this program will learn theory and technical knowledge in a range of natural and physical sciences. Students will also learn a range of practical skills, laboratory methods, and the soft skills necessary for further studies in the field of science. Areas of study include chemistry, biology, microbiology, food nutrition, and environmental sciences.

This program is highly practical. Alongside learning theory, students will spend time in the laboratory developing the practical skills that are useful in the workplace.

This program is for those with a degree in another subject who want to progress their career into accounting.

Students will learn the theory and practice of accountancy, critical thinking, decision-making, and business analysis. The course also includes financial reports and business tax regulations. Before completing their study, students will complete an accounting project for a real business as their final assignment.

To enrol in this program potential students will need to demonstrate knowledge of recording and processing financial transactions using a double entry accounting system and the preparation of financial statements, as well as show an understanding of analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports.

Accounting:

In this pathway, students will learn the theory and practice of accountancy, critical thinking, decision-making, and business analysis. The course also includes financial reports and business tax regulations. Before they graduate, students will complete an accounting project for a real business as their final assignment. There are two accounting pathways to choose from - the non-CAANZ/CPA pathway, which has greater flexibility, or the CAANZ/CPA pathway, which allows the potential to become a chartered accountant.

Students in this program will learn the knowledge and skills to deliver quality information technology services and develop effective communication skills to support and enhance various organisations and industries.

Students can choose to specialise in one of the following five specialisations:

Web development

This program provides students with postgraduate study leading towards professional and higher academic practice. Students will learn within a research-focused learning environment, and will extend their domain of practice through research in their chosen area.

Students will extend their domain of practice through undertaking a body of sustained, independent research. This in-depth investigation is in the student's chosen area of communication, design, music or visual arts practice within a research-focused learning environment. The program will prepare students for high level investigation of, and intervention within their chosen academic or professional field.

This program is designed for those who want to work with people learning English as a second or additional language. These programs are suitable for trained teachers as well as those with little or no teaching experience.

If students are currently teaching in primary, secondary, and tertiary education, they will be able to apply and integrate specialist knowledge and practical skills relating to teaching English to speakers of other languages to the students they teach.

Students will gain knowledge and practical skills relating to teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL) as well as the experience of applying and integrating these into particular teaching contexts. Students will gain knowledge of English linguistics, learners and language learning processes, and language teaching methodology. Students will also gain the experience of beginning to learn a new language and reflecting on their own language learning, and apply this experience to teach those who are learning English as a second or additional language.
