ARU’s teaching facilities include our Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab, where you’ll be able to practice your skills from the first year. Receiving an industry-recognised Bloomberg certification on graduation will only increase your pool of career options. Caring for acutely ill adults is a demanding and important role, and we’ll help you develop the skills and expertise to practise effectively and compassionately. You’ll learn how to provide specialist clinical care while at the same time transforming your existing qualification/s into a BSc (Hons) degree.

Choose to study in Cambridge, Chelmsford or Peterborough, alongside other students with a particular interest in this area. It’s a great opportunity to learn from each other. Together, you’ll explore and apply the current policies, laws and procedures that affect the care of acutely ill adults. You’ll deepen your leadership skills, improve your decision-making, and increase your ability to support and develop others in their work. You’ll also develop your ability to work closely with professionals from other disciplines.

When it comes to work placements, you’ll need to be already employed in a suitable acute-care environment. Your manager should agree to offer supervision and mentorship so that your practice can be fully assessed.

Engineering is in everything and an engineer is continually looking at how to improve products and the world. It’s about taking a product or system seeing whether it can change to meet demand – whether that is in development, processing, design, or even the materials used.

Our new four-year MEng Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering degree course is about combining the mechanical with the electrical. It's been created with a focus on project-based learning, allowing you to take the theory you've learned in class and apply it in a hands-on project module that runs throughout Year 1.

You will study alongside other mechanical engineering students, specialising in mechatronics and robotics manufacturing in your final year and in certain modules throughout your course. You will focus on the electronic application of engineering – how this can blend with mechanical engineering to move technology forwards.

While studying our Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering degree course, you will learn through a wide range of lab sessions. We explore manufacturing, 3D printing, thermodynamics, dynamics, and structural analysis so you can analyse, calculate, model, and experience your proposed concepts. As a part of your project-based learning you work in a multidisciplinary team with students from different areas of mechanical engineering. This integrated learning will allow you to develop skills that area invaluable to future employers, including analytical and creative problem-solving skills. You’ll also benefit from dedicated support from our experienced staff, who are experienced industry professionals and expert researchers.

Our Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering course leads you through computer-based advanced design, simulation and modelling practice in various topics including computational engineering, fluid dynamics, stress analysis, and industrial management

You’ll benefit from using our workshop and laboratory facilities. These include CAD/CAM and engineering computer modelling centre, industrial-scale CNC milling and lathe machines, metal and plastic rapid prototyping machines, scanning electronic microscope, Instron bi-axial fatigue-testing machine, tensile-testing machine, material-preparation facilities, welding equipment, electronic testing and measuring equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generating and testing facilities, wind tunnel, air compressors, steam engine and many more.

You’ll aspire to further your knowledge in the Montessori pedagogy and lead the way in the first ever Montessori Masters degree in the UK. You’ll advance your knowledge of young children’s learning and develop your early years Montessori practice and professionalism. Through the exploration of areas of Montessori in early childhood education and care you’ll enhance your research skills and be one of the first Montessorians to hold a Montessori Masters degree.

You’ll be supported by academics who are also qualified Montessori practitioners offering you a knowledgeable and reflective teaching team. Deepen your knowledge of the three elements of the Montessori triangle: the child; the environment and the teacher. You’ll explore and analyse theories of cosmic education, social justice and the child as an agent for change.We’ll give you opportunity to flourish as an active learner, prepared to lead practice and learning at a Masters level.You’ll be assessed via coursework only. This will take the form of patchwork text, presentations, a reflective journal, research workbook and written reports.

Studying our MEng (Hons) Civil and Construction Engineering four-year degree course will give you all the technical skills and intellectual know-how to be a civil engineer in a constantly changing world.

At ARU, our Civil and Construction Engineering course focusses on infrastructure engineering and will give you the practical skills and experience needed to work on multimillion pound infrastructure projects. You’ll develop crucial mathematical, technical and design skills that all civil engineers need, while taking a more holistic view of the overall design of a built environment which is resilient to future challenges.

With our newly designed courses your learning will be based around the civil engineering project, giving you the chance to immediately apply the theory you learn in class to the challenges of the project.

Studying our MEng Civil and Construction Engineering degree course will give you the knowledge and skills in the management of construction projects. You will assess the safety of a structure such as an old building to approve it as safe for others to work on, and provide specifications and calculations for designs.

Using our specialist workshops and labs you will learn how to carry out site investigations, select the best materials for the job, analyse and design structures and engineering systems, plan the construction process and assess and mitigate the environmental impact of the project. You’ll design, analyse, build and test your projects, developing your technical skills and knowledge through hands-on practice, preparing you to hit the ground running as a graduate civil engineer.

Our BEng (Hons) Electronics and Robotics is designed to put you at the forefront of today’s engineering world.

Placing an emphasis on Industry 4.0 concepts such as digital tools for engineering, the internet of things (IoT), and systematic, project-based approaches, it’ll equip you with skills and knowledge that are in high demand among employers.

Electronics and robotics engineers are required to think originally and critically; work innovatively, creatively and sustainably; and consider the social, commercial, legal and environmental impacts of their work. Throughout the course, you’ll have opportunities to practice these skills, making you well-prepared to enter the workplace when you graduate.You’ll gain experience of every aspect of the development of smart connected electronics and robotics systems today, helping you to discover where your talents and interests lie and determine how you want to use your degree.

On this course you’ll learn through practice, in our Early Childhood Resource and Research Room and through our optional placement and theoretical modules. Placements are optional and individually tailored to enable you to gain experience in a variety of different types of settings.

Whether you decide to go on placement or not, you’ll have access to additional volunteering and work experience as well as the choice to take part in further professional development training opportunities, enrichment trips, research groups and various early childhood and education events.

Throughout your studies you’ll be taught by experts in the field of early childhood, using a variety of teaching methods and interactive technology to promote learning, including group activities, class debates and discussion, lectures and seminar sessions, as well as independent learning and study expectations.

You’ll receive regular feedback and personal tutorial support throughout the course to develop both your academic and professional skills. You’ll also benefit from the research our lecturers are involved in through our Early Childhood Research Group.
