This course explores the way societies understand crime and deviance and how they seek to secure social order, social justice and social control. Across the course, you'll consider how cultural and social values, life experiences and social inequalities are shaped by the social and global environments. You'll consider how practices and attitudes of policing respond to social events and shifts in cultural attitudes and consider the ways the media can influence individuals' perceptions of crime and its causes.

This course, accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, provides an in-depth understanding of disease processes and diagnostic techniques. It links academic knowledge to the practical applications of biomedical science, particularly in relation to modern diagnostic methods. You can choose to study one of two pathways – haematology or medical microbiology. You will develop your own dance identity by studying a variety of topics, such as choreography, dance technique and performance, and the dance industry with a particular focus on teaching dance or event management.
