You will discover how the subject of international relations has evolved, considering traditional theories and how they compare with contemporary thinking and current events. Our course incorporates a focus on employability, personal effectiveness, advocacy, activism and research skills. You'll have access to both student and academic members of staff with a variety of interests and expertise related to the study of International Relations, all of whom share an interest in rigorous academic study and a desire for progressive social change locally and globally.

Quantity surveyors are the cost managers of the construction industry. While studying for a recognised degree, you’ll learn how quantity surveyors organise, control and manage the costing of projects, including building economics, contracts and construction law, construction technology and project management.

Sandwich year
Our sandwich route includes a one year industry placement, enabling you to take advantage of the strong links we have with local authorities, commercial organisations and private quantity surveying practices - all of whom provide placement opportunities for our students.

Leeds is the Northern heart of culture and the arts. Your campus sits in the very centre of the city, surrounded by museums, art galleries, theatres, film production companies and recording studios. We work directly with Leeds museums and galleries and many regional events, including Leeds Lit Fest, poetry performance events and the Leeds West Indian Carnival.

Informed by research and led by practice, this course will see you explore contemporary three-dimensional design practice and gain a human insight into diverse design issues.

As part of your course, you'll:

Innovative research methods will allow you to gain insights into user needs, economic, environmental and ethical considerations, and industry capabilities to inform your design outcomes. The importance of iterative modelling processes (making, testing and improving) will enable you to question, challenge, refine and propose appropriate design solutions that will make a positive contribution to the world around us.

This course recognises the breadth of professional and research-led opportunities within the subject area of 3D Design and supports a culture of discursive enquiry and debate. It aims to foster and nurture independent creative thinkers and will equip you with the necessary attributes to respond to the contemporary challenges undertaken by designers and researchers in the field.

If you take a paid work placement in your third year, you’ll develop and enhance your employability skills.

As well as having the option to gain experience on a placement, you’ll take part in workshops and work on a consultancy project within a start-up business.
