How you’ll apply your new skills

• You’ll learn to apply your theoretical knowledge with practical experiments in our modern labs or using remote access, component kits and a wide range of software. Originally developed at Middlesex University, the first degree in the UK to focus purely on how to prescribe safe and effective physical activity, exercise and sporting participation to those living with the 18 most common chronic diseases in the UK and healthy ageing.

The health and fitness industry has witnessed an explosion in recent years as more and more people realise the importance of exercise. With this comes new challenges for professionals who must consider the wide range of long-term medical conditions which could impact their clients or patients, and how physical activity can positively aid healthy ageing.

Our postgraduate degree promotes cutting edge professional practice, giving students the opportunity to undertake leading research and acquire the latest knowledge of effective practice prescription for special populations, including post-Covid-19, under the supervision of highly experienced experts.

The course has been designed specifically for qualified graduates and health and fitness professionals, so understands that you will bring experience and working knowledge with you. During the course you will learn how to justify your professional decisions with evidence-based practice and develop your professional understanding and accountability.

You might already have a Level 3 GP referral qualification, a Level 4 individual condition qualification or a BSc degree, but this Level 7 degree takes that knowledge to the highest level. At the end of the degree you will have a comprehensive understanding of 18 of the most commonly presented conditions and how to manage them singly or as comorbidities through exercise prescription, and how to prescribe exercise to promote healthy ageing.

Our criminology degree is one of the first in the world and we offer one of the most innovative programmes in the UK. The BA Criminology (Policing and Investigations) shares its core with the BA Criminology, while offering a series of modules with a focus on contemporary policing and investigations, together with options for relevant practice-based placements (online or face-to-face).

If you want to learn how businesses work and how to manage people, then this is the degree for you. You’ll learn about the theory and practice of how businesses operate and what their environments are like. You’ll also study a variety of management styles, alongside the law and practices related to managing people.

You’ll be supported by a team of tutors who have industry experience. You will be exposed to key HR practices such as hiring practices, HR law, the ethics of employment and other abilities you'll need during your career.

You’ll undertake a work placement so you can apply your skills to a live work setting. Using our industry connections, we'll help you find a role in the HR team of a top company, in an industry relevant to your interests. You can do this over the course of a year or over two summers. Understanding contemporary corporate finance is the key to understanding modern business. Covering all areas of finance including investment analysis and capital management, you’ll have the tools to solve financial problems faced by business today.

This course is tailored towards ambitious students who want a management and finance degree, and you’ll learn in a live environment. Using data from the London Stock Exchange, you’ll form portfolios of listed companies and compare it against the market. You’ll identify over and under-priced companies, as well as calculating Beta, among other skills.

You’ll take on the challenge of a work placement, developing your theory and practical skills to an employable level, as well as developing your understanding of financial organisations.he programme is studied over three years full-time, or four years if the option of a 12 month placement is taken. The course is divided into modules and each has a value of 30 credits. You must successfully pass modules to gain credits. To gain a BA (Hons) degree title you must gain 360 credits of which 120 must be in Year 3.
