This master's programme will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of advance Immunological concepts. In particular, the course will focus on developing the understanding of how immune system disorders arise and how immunological reagents may be used as therapeutics (immunotherapeutic). You will also gain a knowledge of a range of immunoassays and will come to understand how these may be used in the diagnosis of disease.

This programme structure in the area of Biomedical Science and Medical Immunology will provide you with the necessary framework and vocabulary in essential and advanced aspects of Immunology. Additionally you will gain knowledge in a range of analytical and technical skills that will equip you to pursue a range of career options. These may include employment within the health service, pharmaceutical industry and education, or, to proceed to further scientific training or research.

Your learning will be split equally between fashion and textile design and production so that you’ll graduate with a wide array of skills, opening up vast and varied employment opportunities across both fashion and textiles. Students will have the opportunity to learn skills across knit, weave, print, embroidery and embellishment, as well as learning to pattern cut and construct garments, producing fashion collections incorporating their own textiles.

Course Highlights

• Learn in our state-of the-art Grove building, home to industry-reflective equipment across fashion and textiles, including dobby and digital jacquard looms, screen printing and digital printing, domestic and dubied knitting as well as specialist industrial sewing machines.
• Benefit from getting industry experience, with a 6-week internship embedded within the 2nd year of study, and the opportunity to take a full year out before 3rd year to complete extensive work placements and gaining an additional Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. This means that during your time studying you’ll gain an understanding of the criminal justice system and the different career paths you might want to pursue after graduation. This could be joining the police or opting to work for support services and charities that focus on policy and reform.

During your studies, you’ll explore the problem of crime, its causes and consequences and to examine in-depth the workings and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. During your BSc in Public Health, you’ll be encouraged to take on a work placement so you can gain professional and practical skills in the workplace. You’ll embed with a local authority or NGO and work on an aspect of public health you're interested in, working on a research project at the same time. Such placements are under the control of our employer partners who may restrict access to placement experience in light of the ongoing Covid 19 outbreak.

Our product design degree gives you the knowledge, practical skills and industry experience to build a portfolio that will help you launch a career in a wide-range of sectors.    

Product designers are the visionaries who bring people and technology together. A BA in product design will open up both creative and technological career opportunities in areas that range from industrial design and engineering to mechanical design and creative technology.

Through project-based study, you'll develop the expert skills and understanding to combine aesthetic functionality and innovative technology. You’ll spend your first year studying a combination of product design and product design engineering to get a broad understanding of the fundamentals of both practices before choosing whether to continue with the BA Product Design or move across to our BEng Product Design Engineering programme.

The BSc Environmental Health Apprenticeship degree* is professional programme that will prepare the apprentice for a career as an Environmental Health Practitioner in the public or private UK sector. They will gain the knowledge and skills to assess and apply effective solutions to improve environmental and public health in a variety of settings.

This programme has been designed to provide education to those wishing to enter the environmental health profession which upholds healthy environments and protects public health. Through their studies on-campus and experience in the workplace, the apprentice will explore the relationship between professional, domestic and leisure environments and how they impact on the health and well-being of individuals and societies. They will cover a range of topics and subject matter including public health, food safety, environmental protection, private sector housing improvement and occupational health and safety.

The apprentice will benefit from specialist teaching and learning spaces for environmental health, including a food inspection laboratory, an environmental and occupational health laboratory, a Grade 2 microbiology laboratory, a biology laboratory and chemistry laboratories. Our lecturers are environmental health practitioners with experience in key areas such as food safety, health and safety, and private sector housing.

Upon graduation, they will be prepared to enter careers in both the public and private sectors and will be confident in evaluating the legal and social framework within which environmental health operates. As this course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), the apprentice will be encouraged to also complete the CIEH Chartered Practitioner Programme and become a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner.

Embracing all aspects of animated film making, this animation degree simply makes perfect sense if you’re an aspiring animator.On this course you will study a broad range of animation practice including

Animation is at the heart of the movie industry, from the latest blockbuster to the small budget indie. Here you will develop your vision as an artist, animator, designer and director, equipping yourself with the essential skills to establish yourself in the animation industry. You'll be encouraged to experiment and be given the space to explore your own creativity and develop your own style. You’ll study across a broad range of animation practice, including traditional and digital 2D, motion graphics and stop motion, as well as 3D computer animation and even working directly onto 16mm film.

 While studying animation you'll combine both theory and practice to develop your skills and knowledge. In class discussions and lectures, you'll learn about the history of animation, building your understanding of the changing practices of animation and being introduced to new concepts around animation and games.

When it comes to practical work, you'll develop and consolidate your own approach to animation in our state-of-the-art animation studios. Using building your own animated films as part of your portfolio development module. Using industry standard software you'll build and refine your technical skills with a focus on designing and directing your own animated films. You'll also learn storytelling, scriptwriting and characterisation alongside film and sound editing techniques to convey compelling narratives.

You’ll learn alongside our BAFTA winning academic team who all work professionally in film making, each with their own set of skills in long and short animation, commercials, TV shows, motion graphics and music videos. They have worked with companies like Dreamworks, Warner Bros, Cartoon Network and the BBC with nominations and wins across events such as Cannes Film Festival and London International Animation Festival.

In your first year you will develop a personal approach to animation and learn to apply an understanding of film language, narrative and the technical processes of animation to the creation of your own animation sequences. You will learn about changing practices in the history of animation and explore and experiment with different forms of graphic media.

In your second year you will further develop your animation practice and begin to identify specific areas of interest. The second year of study gives you the opportunity to refine your technical and problem-solving skills. In the Digital Cultures module you will be introduced to a range of concepts regarding animation in games and play, particularly in relation to computer games.

In your final year you will consolidate your skills to a professional standard and fully prepare for a career in the animation industry, identifying potential career paths and preparing a graduation showreel, portfolio and promotional material.

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

BA Business Management (Marketing)

This course is ideal for those who are interested in how businesses are operated and managed, but who also want to develop their own marketing expertise.
