Biology encompasses and unites concepts, techniques and data from many allied sciences to provide a broader understanding of Life’s processes and interactions. The programme at Middlesex University is unique in combining a range of modules that cover a wide spectrum of biology, but also integrates an emphasis on skills and experience acquisition that provides you with a valuable and marketable skill set. Our architectural technology degree combines architecture, civil engineering, services engineering, environmental science and building information modelling to give you the insight, skills and experience to succeed in the most heavily demanded areas of construction.

Gaining first-hand experience of transforming conceptual designs and drawings into practical building projects, you’ll get to grips with the latest technologies, industry software and Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques. Access to on-campus facilities will be dependent on any Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.

You’ll also learn new methodologies, develop your creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, and have the chance to work on real-life projects – in the UK and abroad – to gain a broad understanding of the full project management process. You’ll graduate with the skills to enter a diverse range of roles in both the private and public sectors of construction. Our graduates have gone on to become BIM managers, lead designers, information managers, project managers and consultants – and some have even set up their own architectural design practices.

Build your architectural skills

• You’ll have the opportunity to build your professional portfolio by taking part in some of the industry’s most prestigious events and competitions – both in the UK and internationally (taking into account any Covid-19 related restrictions). You’ll also get to showcase your work to industry professionals in our final year degree show.
• You’ll get one-on-one support throughout your studies, and our series of guest lecturers also gives you access to some of the industry’s most influential professionals.
• You’ll collaborate with us to put your new skills into practice through real-world construction and infrastructure projects. Our students are currently leading the way on our MDX Pavilion: a major new project to create a sustainably-designed learning, event, community and well-being space on our campus.
• We’ll give you the flexibility to study over three years (full-time), four years (with a paid, year-long work placement), or six years (part-time). You’ll also be able to get a bursary worth up to 50% if you decide to continue your studies with our MSc BIMM course.

• We use accounting software such as Zero, Sage and OneSource in our teaching and our state-of-the-art Financial Markets Lab will give you the hands-on experience you'll need to succeed in the profession.
• During your studies, you will have the opportunity to do a paid work placement, either as a year-long project or two shorter placements. Here you’ll get the chance to test and improve your technical skills in the real world, as well as building your soft employability skills such as communication and team work.

The global fashion system is in flux as brands compete to reach new markets of sophisticated, interconnected consumers. This programme trains innovative thinkers and communicators to guide brands through the new fashion landscape and influence consumers. Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. Our practice and research-based course will challenge you to explore, question and evolve as a photographer. The course provides you with a creative and energetic working environment in which to produce a major photographic project using some of the best traditional and state-of-the-art facilities in the UK, encouraged and supported by world-class academic and technical staff.

At Middlesex, our practice-led approach to photography ensures you spend your postgraduate studies fully immersed in both making work and thinking about its connections with wider photographic discourse. Through a series of photographic projects, or a single large project, you will experiment with both new and traditional photography and whether behind a camera, in post-production or reflecting critically on your practice, you will be thoroughly supported by a staff team of research-active, photography practitioners. Develop your practical dance performance skills

A dance degree will equip you with everything you need to start a career in this creative field, from joining a dance company to working for an arts organisation. Your day will be made up of a variety of learning including theoretical and creative practices, and daily practical classes with live accompaniment where you’ll specialise in different dance techniques.

We have four fully-equipped dance studios. Additionally, our flagship Grove Dance Theatre has a seating capacity of 144, a dedicated dressing room, a specialist lighting rig, and many more extras to facilitate an authentic stage environment.

We have a long-standing partnership with the artsdepot, an award winning cultural hub in North London, where you'll have an opportunity to perform. You’ll also attend industry professional workshops and the student-led dance society will facilitate your interests and pursuits of different dance styles. Graduates have gone on to perform with the likes of Eddie Peake, Ross McKim, and Flawless among others.
