Developed in partnership with the NHS trusts, the course will see you spend 50% of your time on placements with our partner hospitals. You’ll learn the essential nursing skills needed to take effective care of adult patients in a live environment.

You’ll develop your skills in communication, care and compassion, demonstrating your dedication to making a difference in other people’s lives.
Beyond the essential nursing skills, you’ll build your problem-solving skills and critical decision making, gaining confidence to work in a high pressure, stressful environment.

Supporting your nursing career

While you're an undergraduate or foundation year student, you’ll have a Personal Tutor directly related to your course. If you need support with academic writing, numeracy and library skills, we’ll be sure to provide it. • With a BSc in Nursing, you’ll become an independent and self-motivated practitioner with a range of career options. Previously, graduates have gone on to work as nurses, health coordinators, ward managers and more.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Music Business and Arts Management

Our music business and arts management course is designed to give you the tools to succeed in the field of music business and arts management. It covers everything from entrepreneurship and project management to live music, copyright law and much more.

This versatile master's degree combines cognitive and clinical approaches to neuroscience. It seeks to apply neuroscientific techniques to further your understanding of the human mind and explores the underlying mechanisms associated with disease and disorders of the nervous system. You'll be equipped with an understanding of contemporary issues in cognitive and clinical neuroscience and developing your skills and ability to use neuroscientific methods in a research and clinical environment.

• This course focuses on the advanced study of neuroscience, with a focus on understanding the brain in both health and disease.
• A uniquely interdisciplinary course, you'll be taught by internationally recognised academics from both the Psychology department and in Biomedical Sciences. You'll have access to state-of-the-art neuroscience equipment, such as electroencephalography (EEG) and non-invasive brain stimulation as well as lab facilities to get hands-on experience in neuroimaging and non-invasive neuro-stimulation techniques.

With a security breach potentially costing a company millions, highly skilled experts who can provide protection are sought-after across the globe. Technology is constantly developing and security issues are too, making this a challenging and rapidly evolving specialism.

This course provides both intensive practical training and a profound theoretical education, extending beyond the technicalities of network security to cover strategic and organisational issues. During your studies, you will work with our LTE test bed and Blade Server, and you will learn how to access and configure cloud-based networks.

You will be encouraged to learn, explore and work within our award-winning technology centre and its five specialist laboratories equipped with the latest industry-standard hardware and software, including OPNET, Wireshark, MATLAB, Simulink, OpNet Modeller 17.0, OMNeT++ , NI and Cisco technology such as Packet Tracer. Depending on the Covid-19 related restrictions in place at the time, the teaching may take place either online with remote/virtual access to specialised hardware equipment and industry standard software or on campus following the required restrictions.

Practical work is an important part of every module, and unless you're already in employment, we'll encourage and support you to finding a placement for up to 12 weeks, during which you'll work on your independent research project. Access to placements will be dependent on individual employer organisations and any Covid-19 restrictions they may have in place.

Our strong research profile ensures our courses remain innovative. We have developed our own WSN, Senso LAB, and have also undertaken notable research in areas such as MIMO, LTE and LTE Advanced

The course is designed for those students who have previously studied computing at university level or who are currently working in the sector, and are looking to develop an advanced mastery of the subject.

Our BA Photography course will help you make the most of your creative vision and encourage you to develop your own personal approach.

You will be given the tools, opportunities and inspiration to explore the world we live in now, investigating photography’s role in the communication of ideas, opinion, comment, reportage, analysis and meaning through your own work and through debate. You can focus on editorial photography, portraiture, studio and fashion photography for magazines, books, exhibitions and new media, as well as carry out more investigative, reflective and conceptual work.

Build your photography skills
Online demonstrations will introduce you to a number of technical skills, including both traditional and digital processes. Extensive campus facilities, when appropriate, include studios and darkrooms. There is an excellent online library provision. We have strong links with the industry in London, which means you will be able to make invaluable industry contacts too. At the end of your degree, you will the get a chance to show your work in either a dedicated exhibition in central London, or as a virtual exhibition online.

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

Our games design course is designed to give you a skill set that’s resilient to the rapid changes in an expanding and evolving industry. The games industry is  complex and diverse industry that spans a variety of old and new technologies fm print to computer software to 3D printed game pieces. Our BA/BSc in games design gives you the transferable skills and knowledge you need to become a successful games designer in this industry. Led by academic staff experienced in AAA, indie, tabletop and mobile gaming, you'll develop your technology and story development skills, as well as enhancing your game-play design expertise.

Depending on your interests, you will work on the technical side of games design and testing in the BSc, while the BA is focused on experience design and using scripting and games engines to produce satisfying gameplay experiences.

Our multi-disciplinary biomedical engineering course mixes engineering with biomedical science and physiology. This provides you with a solid understanding of the technological developments taking place in the fields of medical engineering and bioengineering.

You will build on your previous experience in applied mathematics, physics, or other sciences. During your course you will enhance your engineering knowledge and gain specialist skills which will help you to design and improve existing and emergent systems, devices and treatments.

You can gain valuable professional experience – and receive a Diploma of Employability Studies – by taking a work placement with the NHS or one of our industrial partners between years two and three.
