Our architectural technology degree combines architecture, civil engineering, services engineering, environmental science and building information modelling to give you the insight, skills and experience to succeed in the most heavily demanded areas of construction.

Gaining first-hand experience of transforming conceptual designs and drawings into practical building projects, you’ll get to grips with the latest technologies, industry software and Building Information Modelling (BIM) techniques. Access to on-campus facilities will be dependent on any Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time.

You’ll also learn new methodologies, develop your creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, and have the chance to work on real-life projects – in the UK and abroad – to gain a broad understanding of the full project management process. You’ll graduate with the skills to enter a diverse range of roles in both the private and public sectors of construction. Our graduates have gone on to become BIM managers, lead designers, information managers, project managers and consultants – and some have even set up their own architectural design practices.

You’ll also get to showcase your work to industry professionals in our final year degree show.

• We’ll give you the flexibility to study over three years (full-time), four years (with a paid, year-long work placement), or six years (part-time). You’ll also be able to get a bursary worth up to 50% if you decide to continue your studies with our MSc BIMM course.

This course is designed to meet that demand.

The university's close links with industry have allowed us to develop a highly practical course, focusing on the skills employers tell us they want. We work with companies such as Microsoft and Siemens, and we are a Cisco local academy and a Xilinx university partner – meaning you will have access to the latest equipment, and can make use of specialist teaching materials and workshops. You will be encouraged to learn, explore and work within our award-winning technology centre and its specialist network, software, digital and wireless laboratories equipped with industry-standard software and hardware. All our sessions will be delivered online during the 2020/21 academic year due to Covid-19 restrictions, enabling you to gain from these experiences without having to travel to campus.

Combing psychological theory and research with therapeutic practice, this course is an ideal stepping-stone towards a career in counselling, psychotherapy, as well as clinical psychology. During your BSc in Psychology with Counselling you’ll gain a broad understanding of psychology, alongside developing specialist counselling skills. You’ll also learn about mental health practices and how they are studied and researched.

Our course has been accredited by the British Psychological Society. Those with a Lower Second Classification (or higher) will be eligible to apply for BPS accredited Master's and Doctoral programmes leading to careers as a Psychologist.

Previous graduates from this course have gone on to work as support workers, social therapists, counsellors, and case managers. You'll also have the option of working within private hospitals, independent practices, education in schools and universities, and public and private corporate institutions.

Learning counselling skills in a work environment
When available, you’ll be taught in our award winning Hatchcroft Building which includes physiology, social observation, virtual reality and auditory cognition laboratories. This allows you to build your skills in a live environment as you’ll have access to psycho-physiology and social observation labs, as well as 12 testing cubicles. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or the classroom together, we aimm to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

During your counselling and psychology degree you’ll be encouraged to take on a work placement so you can test your skills in the real world. Previously we've seen our students take on internships in areas such as eating disorders, autism and the psychological factors relating to male and female rape.

The basis for a wide range of computer-based careers, computer science studies opens up opportunities across all sectors – from software development to systems engineering and everywhere in between. Our course helps you develop the skills, knowledge and experience that will attract employers and help you achieve your computer-based career goals.

You’ll gain an understanding of the key principles of computer science while you develop your programming, system engineering, and project experience skills. Interior design courses are rapidly growing in demand. Interior design is a vital part of our everyday environment, from office lobbies and restaurants to hotels and government buildings. Our course aims to equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you’ll need to start your career in interior design. You’ll learn all about different interior styles, what is meant by ‘placemaking’, challenge your creativity, and explore the diverse interdisciplinary nature of the subject.

In addition to the three-year full-time course, you can also choose a four-year sandwich option. This pathway incorporates a one-year professional placement recognised by a dedicated Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice: Interior Architecture & Design, which you’ll receive at graduation.

Mechatronics at Middlesex is available as either a three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and a four-year Master of Engineering (MEng).

The degrees produce professional and competent multi-disciplinary engineers capable of meeting the challenges and opportunities arising in contemporary industrial and commercial practice.
