The Philosophy major will give you the ability to engage with central questions, arguments, theories and texts concerning the world and our place within it. In addition to taking period papers focusing on literature from 1550 to the present day, you’ll study rhetoric and stylistics. You will also study classic philosophical texts from antiquity to the present day, which investigate the nature of the world and how we ought to interact with it.

Engage with two of the major traditional methods of viewing the world, studying the practice and applications of the historical discipline itself and assessing historical views about the constitution of the world and how we ought to act within it.
