The Philosophy & Cognitive Science BA (Hons) combines a major in Philosophy with dual minors in Data Science and Psychology.

Your major studies in Philosophy will investigate topics including ethics, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of the mind, and the philosophy of science. The Data Science minor explores the techniques underpinning artificial intelligence including coding in Python, machine learning, and natural language processing, as well as theoretical and practical issues surrounding AI and data ethics. The Psychology minor surveys fundamental principles, concepts, experiments, and issues in the major areas of contemporary scientific psychology. Our English with Psychology BA (Hons) combines the study of English Literature and Psychology.

The History with Law BA (Hons) allows you to develop advanced analytical skills highly valued by employers. You will study six historical periods, from Roman Empire Britain through to modern America, as well as broader survey courses and the study of the historical discipline itself, and its applications and practices. Through your Law minor, you will develop an understanding of the legal system and how it has changed over time, and enhance your skills of reasoning and argument.

The Art History with History BA will allow you to interpret moments of history as manifested in works of art. Both your major and your minor include surveys of historical periods and their cultures, which are then supplemented by media specific and period specific courses in Art History and History respectively. You’ll learn about painting, ceramics, architecture, and landscapes, alongside broader reflections on the nature of the historical discipline and its applications.

The Combined Honours Law LLB is a Qualifying Law Degree, covering all of the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board required areas of study to permit progression onto the professional training courses for qualification as a solicitor or barrister.
