Biomedical engineering is a fast evolving interdisciplinary field, which has been at the forefront of many medical advances in recent years. As such, it is a research-led discipline, which sits at the cutting edge of advances in medicine, engineering and applied biological sciences.

This MSc programme is designed to provide an advanced biomedical engineering education and to develop specialist understanding; the programme contains a large project component which allows you to develop advanced knowledge and research skills in a specialist area.

The programme also aims to develop a multidisciplinary understanding of the subject, which can be applied in a variety of clinical, biomedical and industrial settings. All subjects are taught by biomedical/medical engineers and clinical scientists. This allows you to gain the related skills and experience in healthcare science and technology, engineering principles and manufacturing, and management of various industry standard medical devices.

Cutting-edge research feeds directly into teaching and various student projects, ensuring your studies are innovative, current and focused with direct relation to related industries. All academic staff are research active and very enthusiastic, leading to research led/taught core modules with an excellent pass rate.

With a particular emphasis on the creative side of games design, you’ll be taught the core theories that underpin the discipline and use these to guide your practical work and, in turn, gain the vocational experience needed to start a career in this fast-growing industry.

The course places particular emphasis on applying theoretical knowledge to practical, real world issues and controversies. You will examine current psychological-criminological debates by developing research design and analysis skills, allowing you to conduct your own research. This means you will develop expertise to match your future career goals: going onto phase 1 of becoming a forensic psychologist or working within the criminal justice system.

Therefore, the course also aims to further develop your intellectual and transferable employability skills, for example, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.

This BEng degree equips you with the underlying knowledge and skills you need to become a creative Civil and Structural Engineer, capable of planning, designing and overseeing the construction of sustainable structures and transport infrastructure systems.

Civil and Structural Engineering involves the design, construction, and maintenance and repair of infrastructure such as roads and bridges, buildings and underground transport systems.

You’ll develop a broad knowledge of geotechnical, structural, environmental and management aspects of civil engineering, and gain the computing, mathematical, drawing and communication skills you'll need as an engineer.

On completion of the programme you’ll be able to enter range of graduate civil engineering roles. You’ll be joining a dynamic profession with a high demand for skilled graduates, and contribute to the prosperity of our society.

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science for Cyber Security blends core computer science disciplines with specialist areas of cyber security such as:

The MA Filmmaking programme will engage you in the production of advanced digital film products.

You will study modules in the production and technology of videography (shooting, editing, post-production), together with specialist modules in film industry practices, music video commissioning and film history and context.

Students on the MA Filmmaking programme also have the opportunity to work with United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) through Bradford UNESCO City of Film to help develop the work of UNESCO including:

• Greater understanding of the work of UNESCO across the world and how filmmakers might respond to this
• Greater understanding of the UNESCO Cities of Film and filmmaking in other countries around the world
• Guest lectures from experts in other countries
• Access to and use of the UNESCO film and media archive

The MA in Peace, Conflict and Development Studies provides an advanced understanding of the inter-relationships between conflict, development, security, and governance in developing, fragile, transitional and/or conflict affected regions and countries. You’ll gain the understanding and skills you need to pursue or develop a career in what is now a major area for international, national and local policy and practitioner communities. You’ll be equipped to work across many sectors including:

The new LLM in International Commercial Law gives you specialist knowledge of the regulation of international commerce, and a thorough understanding of the broader social, economic and political contexts which shape modern commercial law and practice.

The course offers a wide range of modules that are contemporary, academically rigorous and skills oriented. You'll gain core knowledge of the framework and regulatory environment of modern commerce whilst having the flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your particular interests and career aspirations by choosing from a range of specialist commercial law modules (and optional modules from the School of Management).

• Past and present transnational challenges in international and regional diplomacy
• Contemporary global challenges such as environmental degradation, trafficking/crime and migration

You will develop an advanced academic and policy relevant understanding of international relations and security, along with analytical skills that are in high demand within institutional politics, NGO and lobbying organisations.
