The University of Bradford and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to offer a Harrogate Pathway with the aim to recruit locally and therefore develop a sustainable workforce.

This pathway may be of interest to local people with commitments in the area, especially more mature applicants with dependants who may find traveling further afield difficult.

By providing all but one of the practice placements within the Trust we are offering a long term relationship to students. This is also reflected within our commitment agreement.

The pathway is advantageous to the Trust as newly registered practitioners who have followed the pathway will be familiar with the Trust policies and processes as well as having developed working relationships with existing staff.

3D methods of digitally documenting objects, sites, and landscapes offer significant potential to archaeology and heritage management. Digital data can be a way of archiving heritage (the need for this has been graphically illustrated by the loss of world heritage sites to conflict) and it is becoming the gold standard for commercial recording of sites and landscapes.

Digital data can be used for a variety of purposes:

• To monitor change for conservation and management
• To investigate and analyse features
• For reconstruction purposes
• To visualise and present the past
• Providing new ways of engaging with the public
• Providing access to remote sites or inaccessible collections that are otherwise difficult to reach.

This course develops skills in core biomedical, chemical and forensic sciences, helping you become a skilled forensic practitioner.

The emphasis is on biosciences, and then shifts towards disease processes and forensic investigation of physical evidence types.

In addition to the pursuit of core sciences, you will study forensic investigation in anthropology and topics relating to archaeology - including the degradation of human remains and physical materials - which will develop your skills in forensic interpretation. The final year develops your professional skills through a forensic research dissertation.

The course prepares you for a wide range of careers, including those in the professional medical and forensic sectors because of its broad basis and application.

Our LLB (Hons) degree gives you a rigorous academic legal education and a thorough grounding in legal, academic and clinical skills needed for you to pursue a career as a solicitor or barrister, as well as equipping you for employment in other areas if you choose not to go on to a professional qualification in law.

The programme is taught by a mix of academic experts and practitioner lawyers, who put real world clinical legal experience at the heart of the programme.

You’ll develop a critical grasp of the law and its political, social and economic contexts.

Our LLB programme is flexible in structure and has core first and second years including all seven law foundation subjects. This gives you the ability to switch to a more specialist LLB in the final year and tailor your study to a particular aspect of law by choosing options relating to criminal law, commercial law or social justice or choosing a range of options. By completing the foundation subjects early, this will also put you in a good position to obtain law work experience and placement opportunities and enhance your employability. It also allows you to take your time to decide on which aspect of law is right for you.

However, applying appropriate analytics techniques, managing technical staff, aligning business analytics to organisational strategy, managing data analytics projects and interpreting analytics remains a key challenge.

With all this in mind, this programme has been uniquely designed to equip students with the necessary technical and non-technical skills to succeed as business managers of the future.

Through invaluable inputs from leading industry professionals, we have tailored modules on this programme to offer a balance between the mechanics of business analytical methods and the dynamics of business and management decision making processes. Bioinformatics combines knowledge from a variety of disciplines such as biology, computer science, mathematics and statistics to analyse and interpret biological data on a large scale.

The Bioinformatics programme at Bradford includes training in experimental techniques that complements commonly used data acquisition methods in a broad range of investigative scenarios. This is designed to provide a basic training in the principles of bioinformatics, followed by coverage of the advanced level of knowledge and training required relevant to large-scale data mining and processing, including programming and scripting via command line and the Galaxy interface.

A key feature of the MSc programme at Bradford is that students are able to learn the theoretical knowledge of bioinformatics with a practical training in experimental techniques that are commonly used in biomedical sciences. This is designed to enable students to become knowledgeable in genomics, proteomics transcriptomics and metagenomics so that they can apply bioinformatics approaches in a broad range of real world employment scenarios aimed at improving human health, both in industry as well as in healthcare organisations.

The new LLM in International Commercial Law gives you specialist knowledge of the regulation of international commerce, and a thorough understanding of the broader social, economic and political contexts which shape modern commercial law and practice.

The course offers a wide range of modules that are contemporary, academically rigorous and skills oriented. You'll gain core knowledge of the framework and regulatory environment of modern commerce whilst having the flexibility to tailor your degree to suit your particular interests and career aspirations by choosing from a range of specialist commercial law modules (and optional modules from the School of Management).  

Whatever your choice, your studies will examine key contemporary issues such as developments in information technology, free trade and trade protectionism, Brexit, and sustainability.

This course builds knowledge and skills in the planning and management of development projects and programmes. It is designed to deepen critical understanding of the strategies, processes, techniques and issues involved in taking ideas for development and turning them into practical realities with identifiable outcomes and benefits.

The degree provides an excellent basis for career enhancement or conversion for those with interest and experience in projects for development. The focus of the course is on development projects in the public or third (voluntary or community) sectors, but the underlying principles are applicable to all types of project, including those for commercial benefit.

On completion of your course, you will be able to understand and examine critically:

• The principles and practice of project planning, design, preparation, and appraisal techniques for projects in a development context
