This programme is unique as it combines the study of pharmaceutical technology, including pharmaceutical sciences, and medicines control.

It has been designed to provide you with an advanced theoretical knowledge of sciences that are related to disciplines in pharmaceutical sciences, and give you the skills you need for laboratory work in this area.

These disciplines include the development of pharmaceutical formulation, with particular emphasis on the technology used in the pharmaceutical process and the development and production of medicines. This focus leads to an emphasis on the processes and procedures for clinical trials that are needed for licensing and regulation.

Medicines control is an important element of this programme. It encompasses drug regulations, drug licensing, drug testing, and safety. You will learn about the key processes involved in structured enforcement and inspection standards through the application of quality assurance. You will also gain knowledge and develop skills related to pharmaceutical supply chains and pharmacovigilance, including the safe and proper use of medicines.

This MEng degree equips you with the underlying knowledge and skills you need to become a creative Civil and Structural Engineer, capable of planning, designing and overseeing the construction of sustainable structures and transport infrastructure systems.

Civil and Structural Engineering involves the design, construction, and maintenance and repair of infrastructure such as roads and bridges, buildings, and underground transport systems.

You’ll develop a broad knowledge of geotechnical, structural, environmental and management aspects of civil engineering, and gain the computing, mathematical, drawing and communication skills you need as an engineer.

On graduation you will then need to successfully complete a 1-year pre-registration period in order to become a qualified pharmacist. Alternatively you can choose our unique 5-year Mpharm programme, which enables you to undertake your pre-registration training as part of the programme. Our Law with Business and Management LLB (Hons) degree is designed for those interested in both law and business management, those considering a career as an in-house lawyer, or those looking to build their legal expertise in a particular area of business.

The programme is taught by a mix of academic experts and practitioner lawyers, who put real world clinical legal experience at the heart of the programme. You’ll develop a critical grasp of the law and its political, social, corporate and economic contexts.

We offer a range of LLB Law programmes which share common modules – the Law with Business Management degree adds specialist modules covering a range of management, business, finance and marketing disciplines, making it the perfect choice for an agile, commercially aware aspiring lawyer.

Studying this industry accredited course will enable you to develop as a highly skilled and experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of the Film and Television industries.

You will be taught by a team of expert lecturers who remain industry active and will share their knowledge with you and give you a clear insight into the realities of working within Film and Television.

You will be introduced to the creative and technical aspects of single camera and multi-camera filmmaking and television production, supported by film and media theory to inform your practice. And you will learn how to generate and develop ideas and adopt a creative approach to your work.

During the second and third years of the course, there are a range of specialist options available to enable you to explore your own areas of interest. There is also the option to study abroad at a partner university or to do a placement in industry on the four-year version of the course.

In your final year you will undertake a major bespoke production project, where you will be able to collaborate with other disciplines and put your learning into practice, whilst showcasing your expertise developed through the course.

We provide a unique Master’s education in Materials Chemistry, offering the opportunity to carry out a 12-month research project from a selection that covers all aspects of Materials Chemistry.

Optional modules enable you to gain specialist knowledge of core areas such as:

• Supramolecular and nanochemistry

• Inorganic materials chemistry

Both synthesis and characterisation are integral to the teaching around these areas.

Materials Chemistry is a key multidisciplinary area, and a growth area for both academic and industrial research. Employment prospects in this area are excellent - the programme will prepare you for a career in industrial or academic research and development, or in production or manufacturing roles.

Chemists essentially perform one of two roles (and often a mixture of the two) in employment: chemists synthesise molecules and/or they make structural measurements.

When something is made or formulated in the chemical industry - be it a perfume, a polymer, a drug molecule or a pot of paint – an analytical chemist will be required to provide information regarding the product’s chemical constituents. As such, a good analytical chemist is seldom out of work.

Securing initial employment as an analytical chemist is greatly helped by having hands-on experience of using analytical instruments. The University of Bradford’s Centre for Chemical and Structural Analysis is based within Chemistry and Forensic Sciences, and is involved in commercial work as well as supporting research within the university. The equipment and expertise in the centre forms an integral part of our Analytical Chemistry degree, giving students the real-world experience that makes them stand out in the jobs market.

The course is built around current and predicted industry requirements. It explores the complexities and potential for AI technologies and teaches the knowledge and skills needed to create innovative solutions.

In the first year, students will work in teams to develop a number of different AI solutions. They will build a biometric recognition system, a user profiling system and a system to analyse real-time data.

The second year will allow students to work in a specialised area, which could include the design of healthcare diagnostic systems, the analysis of company credit card ratings, or the development of a virtual healthcare assistant.

In the final year, students will work with an industry client and gain experience of developing cutting-edge AI solutions to solve real-life problems.

The programme critically examines how different actors are responding to these challenges, including efforts to rethink the assumptions and practices that shape our ways of life, public engagement, contentious collective action and practical efforts to design and create more resilient, sustainable and equitable communities.
