Under the guidance of an academic mentor, you will be offered a choice of units spanning the breadth of mathematics. In year one you will receive an overview of human and physical geography and develop a range of geographical and scientific skills. The remaining years are organised around specialist units from human and/or physical geography.

Physical geography units cover three broad areas: glaciology, hydrology and environmental change. Human geography units provide in-depth study of cultural, economic and social geography, emphasising the importance of theory and methods for analysing contemporary geographical problems and policies. Topics range from economic development and global politics to inequalities of health and contemporary social theory.

You will also develop skills in the use of specialised computer software, statistics and data collection in the field. Field trips and practical work are key components of the course. There are UK residential trips in year one and in year two there is typically an overseas field trip.

The skills that you acquire throughout your studies will be applied in a self-directed dissertation project in year three.

Our intensive one-year MSc Management with a specialism in Leadership, Strategy and Change is for graduates from a wide range of subject backgrounds. It is not necessary to have any prior academic or practical experience in business or management. This program is for students who aspire to management-level and leadership roles within their chosen industry.

Our MSc Management pathways provide an introduction to management, followed by a detailed exploration of a specific area of management theory and practice, in this case Leadership, Strategy and Change. The program attracts students from around the globe and you will work with students with different backgrounds and interests.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of the theories and practices that underpin leading change in the contemporary organisational context, characterised by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

This program gives you the opportunity to extend your core sociological knowledge and understanding. It will also bolster your understanding of the subject if your background is in a related area, but you do not have specialist knowledge of sociology.

The key learning goals are to develop your critical use and comprehension of social theory, while gaining a grounding in methodologies and techniques of enquiry. Your first year and half of your second year comprise mandatory units which will give you a solid grounding in both disciplines. This content is fixed to ensure that you have a depth of understanding which will enable you to explore what you find most interesting later on.

Half of your second year is made up of optional units, as is your entire final year. The course will equip you to use the critical, theoretical and practical skills central to electrical and electronic engineering, allowing you to develop your knowledge and skills across a range of areas. You will gain a grounding in mathematics, computing, analogue and digital electronics, communications, electromagnetics, power electronics and control, and will explore a range of optional courses and individual project topics. The diverse range of units allows you to focus on anything from electrical power systems to electronic communications.

You will come together with students from other innovation disciplines, such as computer science and management, each contributing a unique perspective on a challenge as you identify needs and develop ideas. Ultimately, you'll create innovative solutions together.
