Our four-year MSci degree is similar to the BSc Pharmacology but gives you the opportunity to spend your third year gaining valuable experience of how pharmacology is related to the pharmaceutical and associated industries.

Placements are available by applying directly to providers in a competitive process facilitated by the University. Placements may be in major pharmaceutical companies and other health, biotech and research companies in the UK and abroad.

In your final year you will undertake additional advanced study instead of the research project.

Theoretical physics aims to understand and predict phenomena in the physical world based on a conceptual and mathematical understanding of the laws of the universe.

This course includes topics such as quantum physics, quantum information, relativistic field theory and condensed matter physics. Our MSci Theoretical Physics degree incorporates a greater level of mathematics and theory with less laboratory work than MSci Physics.

You will join a friendly department with a very active, award-winning student society. This pathway is designed for those with an interest in teaching and learning and working with learners in educational settings across the sector. In common with other MSc Education students, you will take the compulsory research methods unit, Introduction to Educational Inquiry, and write a dissertation. You will also take the compulsory unit, Contemporary Perspectives in Learning, which is core to your pathway. You can choose the rest of your units from across the programs offered by the school. Your final choice of units will be made after consulting with tutors so that your choice is as coherent and useful as possible, as well as suiting your individual needs.

The MSc in Engineering with Management is designed for graduates who wish to combine leading-edge knowledge in management practices and state-of-the-art practical advances to lead in the new era of engineering and technology.

Provided you fulfil progression requirements, you will spend your third year abroad at one of our partner universities. Our intensive one-year MSc Management with a specialism in Leadership, Strategy and Change is for graduates from a wide range of subject backgrounds. It is not necessary to have any prior academic or practical experience in business or management. This program is for students who aspire to management-level and leadership roles within their chosen industry.

Our MSc Management pathways provide an introduction to management, followed by a detailed exploration of a specific area of management theory and practice, in this case Leadership, Strategy and Change. The program attracts students from around the globe and you will work with students with different backgrounds and interests.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of the theories and practices that underpin leading change in the contemporary organisational context, characterised by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.

Our MSci Chemistry with Study Abroad course is suited to you if you want to deepen your understanding of the subject and broaden your experience by studying chemistry at an overseas university during your third year.

The first two years are common to all of our degree courses. You will study fundamental concepts in inorganic, organic and physical chemistry and applications in areas such as analytical, environmental, materials and theoretical chemistry.

You will develop your ability to design experiments and interpret results, and gain key skills through our chemistry-specific communications and mathematics units.

You will spend your third year studying abroad in the chemistry department of an English-speaking university before returning to Bristol for your final year.
