Overview
Our MSci course is ideal if you want to continue in research or to stand out when applying for a PhD.
In your first year you will gain a broad training in biomedical science and will begin to study the cellular and molecular basis of human diseases as well as basic biochemistry, cell biology, pathology and microbiology.
In your second year you will study molecular genetics and learn skills in recombinant DNA technology, which underpins research in many cutting-edge laboratories.
In the third year you will choose options from approximately ten different units, which reflect our research strengths in the areas of cancer biology, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, and infection and immunology.
The additional, fourth year includes an extended research project and advanced research skills training with an emphasis on enterprise. You will plan projects, communicate with a variety of audiences and learn to translate and commercialise research.
The School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine focuses on turning science into medicine and these courses aim to launch you into a research career with an emphasis on translational research.

This course provides an exciting intellectual challenge from the outset. In year one you will study physics and mathematics and philosophical topics such as metaphysics, the theory of knowledge, and ethics.

This degree combines theatre with the study of Spanish, the second most widely spoken European language in the world.

The innovators of the 21st century will bring together arts, science, engineering, humanities and enterprise to deliver innovative products, services and ways of living. They will be team players with a breadth of skills and qualities that enable them to work across specialisms and cultures.
This course combines in-depth subject specialism in history with interdisciplinary breadth, creative teamwork and entrepreneurial skills. Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
One of the broadest engineering disciplines, electrical and electronic engineering uses cutting-edge technology to address some of the major concerns of the modern world. The MSci Neuroscience is a four-year degree with an extended project in the final year. The course provides an opportunity to gain in-depth understanding of how to plan and perform experimental research in a specialised subject area. The first three years follow the BSc Neuroscience course. In the first and second years you will explore many aspects of neuroscience, including the neurophysiology of the central nervous system; the pharmacology of drugs that affect the nervous system; and the techniques that have enabled advances in understanding the nervous system.
