Statistics is the area of mathematics we use to explore and try to explain the uncertain world in which we live. You’ll be familiar with the use of statistics in opinion polls and market research. Biochemistry is the study of biological systems at molecular level. Biochemistry and the related field of molecular biology are important in understanding the molecular basis of life and its role in the disease process.

Microbiology is the study of the smallest living organisms (micro-organisms or microbes) and includes viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa.
