Our Law degrees enable you to develop an in-depth understanding of the technical and doctrinal aspects of the law, and a critical awareness of the role law can play in contemporary society.

As well as studying legal judgements, statutes and treaties, you will gain valuable insights into the impact of economic, cultural and political change on law, and consider how law affects life beyond the courtroom and the lawyer's office.

Study abroad

This course features an integral year abroad, in which you will study approved law modules at one of our partner universities. We have links with overseas universities in many exciting parts of the world and past students have spent a year in Germany, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy or Hong Kong.

Our BSc Management with Placement Year course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate effectively in roles within international brands, multinational companies, global financial markets and new business ventures. You will undertake a work placement during your third year, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a real work setting before returning to Warwick for your final year of studies. Alternatively, you can apply to study with a partner institution instead of working.

As well as enhancing your career potential, the course will enable you to develop as a critically reflective thinker, able to analyse and interpret business-related problems and to devise creative and enterprising solutions that straddle multi-disciplinary boundaries. You’ll benefit from studying with students from a range of different countries, in a mutually-supportive, collaborative learning environment.

As the course progresses, you can choose modules to tailor your experience to meet your interests, development needs and career aspirations. This means you can follow a generalist route in business and management to keep your career options open or you can choose to study one of our recognised pathways to build your knowledge within a particular subject area. Upon graduation, your recognised pathway will be added to your transcript adding real value to your CV when starting your career.

This exciting new course is built on the strength of existing research connections between the four departments that will contribute to it: the departments of Economics, Psychology, and Philosophy, and Warwick Business School (specifically the Behavioural Science Group).

The current attention that this interdisciplinary field of research, particularly the area of Behavioural Science and Behavioural Economics, receives across academia, government and the private sector also makes this course an excellent preparation for a wide range of careers within local government, public health, media, charities and NGOs, marketing and finance.

You will have a choice of interesting potential specialisms and pathways through your course so that you can explore the issues that interest you the most, to graduate with either a BA or a BSc.

Students on all pathways take a course-specific co-taught core capstone module in the final year, which is designed to set the disciplines in interdisciplinary dialogue with each other.

You have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated study abroad year at one of our many partner institutions, extending your degree to four years.

As well as offering an opportunity to experience an alternative university system, studying abroad can also provide the chance to improve language skills and to gain an understanding of a country that can only be gained by living and working in it.

By studying GSD, you will take a transdisciplinary approach and confront issues from a diverse array of perspectives. You will need to be ready to think creatively and embrace new opinions from your peers from across the world. We will challenge you to become an active participant in your own learning.

Specifically designed for students who wish to pursue an academic research career, the course offers first-hand research experience through placements in different laboratories, working on thematically related research. This lab rotation offers strong candidates for doctoral research more scope to explore different topics within their areas of interest than the traditional options at Master’s level.

Two placements taken during the course allow you to contribute directly to your chosen supervisors’ research. A subsequent research project then gives you the chance to put this experience into practice in developing your own area of study, supported through the advice of relevant academics. Possible themes include:

You will study and learn within the Department of Economics and will also study bespoke modules taught by Warwick Business School, focused on the interaction between economics and its applications within business and industry. The degree focuses on research-led teaching and so we will expose you to research from the very start, encouraging you to consider and develop your own research questions.

In your first and third years you will be able to choose from many optional modules both within and outside of the Economics Department, helping you to pin down your own areas of academic interest.

In your final year, you will be able to follow your curiosity further by completing a Research in Applied Economics project on a topic of particular interest.

Study abroad

We currently offer an exciting range of opportunities for you to spend a year abroad. You can study in a higher education institution either in Europe, at the University of Monash in Australia, or with our partners in China and Canada. Studying overseas can add immeasurably to your personal development, future study and career opportunities.

It will also offer you an opportunity to experience an alternative university system. If you’re successful in gaining a Study Abroad placement, your degree programme will become a four year programme and, assuming you pass sufficient modules whilst abroad, the title of your course changes to add the suffix 'with Study Abroad' to the existing title (e.g. 'BSc Economics with Study Abroad').

Big data and quantitative methods are transforming political processes and decisions in everyday life.

Local, national and international administrations are making ‘open data’ available to wide audiences; giant, world-level web organisations are putting more and more services in synergy; and some private companies or governments are developing strongly ideological projects in relation with big data. Therefore, there is a need for trained specialists who will have the capacity to compete and/or collaborate with strictly business or technique-oriented actors on the basis of sound knowledge from political and international studies.

Our programme provides you with an understanding of the implications of different approaches to issues concerning big data and public policy.

Our highly ranked course taught by world-renowned academics will help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate effectively in roles within international brands, multinational companies, global financial markets and new business ventures.

Each pathway has been developed to build your knowledge within that subject area and upon graduation, your recognised pathway will be added to your transcript.

If you choose to study the 4-year course with the integrated placement year you will work in the UK or overseas. Previous students have completed placements with companies including Accenture, Adidas, EY, Gymshark, HSBC, L’Oréal, Toyota, Microsoft and The Walt Disney Company. As a WBS (Warwick Business School) student you will have access to CareersPlus, who provide a range of individual and group sessions and interventions to help you source a placement or summer internship. You may also apply to study at one of our partner institutions where you will be taught in English.

Study abroad

Study abroad is guaranteed for students on BSc International Management who meet the Year One requirements. As part of our BSc Management with Placement Year students can apply for a study placement (rather than working). Studying abroad as part of this course is undertaken in English and opportunities are available with a wide range of partners in countries such as Canada, Singapore, France, and Japan.

Why do bad ideas become policy and good ideas languish for years? Why do governments respond differently to global policy challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic? Governments are facing more complex demands every day. If you want to make a difference in the world, you need to understand the limits and possibilities of how policies are developed, implemented, and evaluated.

This programme will give you an advanced understanding of the major theories and concepts of governance, public management, and public policy. You will work with world leading experts on transnational policy making and gain a practice focused understanding of why and how ideas are turned into public policy.

This degree, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society, draws on Warwick’s research strengths and agendas across the Department of Psychology and Education Studies. The issues of learning and teaching are key in both disciplines, making them a natural academic combination.

If you are interested in a career working with children, young people, schools and families, the course will give you an understanding of education, development, and behavior from a psychological perspective.

Typically, when students choose to study abroad, they apply in their second year for the third year of study at a partner institution. Students then return to Warwick for their final year.
