Our Biological Sciences course spans the entire scale of biological systems, from molecules to ecosystems. Our exceptionally wide range of options allow you to choose modules that are best suited to your interests and career ambitions.

You will be exposed to cutting-edge research in molecular, cellular and whole organism biology, while covering applications of science to major global challenges such as environmental management, food security and human health.

Our four-year MBio gives you the opportunity to undertake an extended final-year research project in-house.

Our Law degrees enable you to develop an in-depth understanding of the technical and doctrinal aspects of the law, and a critical awareness of the role law can play in contemporary society.

Why do bad ideas become policy and good ideas languish for years? Why do governments respond differently to global policy challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic? Governments are facing more complex demands every day. If you want to make a difference in the world, you need to understand the limits and possibilities of how policies are developed, implemented, and evaluated.

This programme will give you an advanced understanding of the major theories and concepts of governance, public management, and public policy. You will work with world leading experts on transnational policy making and gain a practice focused understanding of why and how ideas are turned into public policy.

This programme analyses European politics explicitly in the context of both International Relations (IR) and International Political Economy (IPE). It is designed for students keen to understand past and present international relations of Europe, and the EU, amidst times of crisis and in a constantly changing world.

The combination of IR, IPE and the EU makes this programme distinct from many others. The economic crisis in Europe, Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic provide an opportunity to explore how the EU is shaped internally and can respond externally to growing political, economic and societal challenges. This course examines the EU, its significance in and for the world system, its relationships with key developed and emerging countries and regions, and the various ways in which it engages with the international milieu on issues of global significance.

Our highly ranked course taught by world-renowned academics will help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate effectively in roles within international brands, multinational companies, global financial markets and new business ventures.

As the course progresses, you can choose modules to tailor your experience to meet your interests, development needs and career aspirations. This means you can follow a generalist route in business and management to keep your career options open or choose one of our recognised pathways in Finance, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship or Marketing. Each pathway has been developed to build your knowledge within that subject area and upon graduation, your recognised pathway will be added to your transcript.

If you choose to study the 4-year course with the integrated placement year you will work in the UK or overseas. Previous students have completed placements with companies including Accenture, Adidas, EY, Gymshark, HSBC, L’Oréal, Toyota, Microsoft and The Walt Disney Company. As a WBS (Warwick Business School) student you will have access to CareersPlus, who provide a range of individual and group sessions and interventions to help you source a placement or summer internship. You may also apply to study at one of our partner institutions where you will be taught in English.

Study abroad

Study abroad is guaranteed for students on BSc International Management who meet the Year One requirements. As part of our BSc Management with Placement Year students can apply for a study placement (rather than working). Studying abroad as part of this course is undertaken in English and opportunities are available with a wide range of partners in countries such as Canada, Singapore, France, and Japan.

Combining the study of German language, culture and contemporary society with in-depth business practice, this degree is split between the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, and Warwick Business School.

On the Business Studies side you can take many different pathways through your course including human resource management, accounting, finance, principles of organisational behaviour, production and operations management, industrial relations, corporate strategy, and auditing.

The German side of the degree enables you to acquire in-depth knowledge of German (business) language, culture, society and history.

You will normally spend your second or third year abroad, consolidating and enhancing your learning.

Study abroad

We strongly recommend that you take a year abroad as part of your modern languages degree, if you are able to. If you are unable to take a year abroad you will move to a three-year. You will be required to complete further language reinforcement work. You will also be encouraged to spend time abroad in other ways, during vacation times.

You will usually spend your year abroad doing one of three things:

• Working as a language assistant teaching English in a primary or secondary school
• Studying full-time at a partner university in your chosen country
• On a work placement

Choosing our BEng or MEng Engineering degree is an ideal route into Engineering if you wish to sample all our disciplines and want a sustained broad learning experience.

Delivered jointly by the School of Engineering and WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group), you will be taught by experts across the fields of automotive, biomedical, civil, electrical, electronic, manufacturing, mechanical and systems engineering.

The Warwick course will allow you to develop sought-after skills including a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving, the ability to manage projects and communicate ideas, and the capacity to lead, research, design, innovate and develop products and systems.

By choosing the MEng degree you can explore specialist areas of Engineering through fourth-year core and optional module choices and a group project.

Study abroad

You may choose to take an intercalated year in industry, research or study abroad between years two and three (BEng and MEng), or between years three and four (MEng only). If you choose to take an intercalated year, this will be reflected in your degree title, and add a year to your degree programme.

As an MEng student you may choose to take your third year as an exchange year at a partner university abroad, subject to academic requirements and approval of study programme.

This course features an integral year abroad, in which you will study approved law modules at one of our partner universities. We have links with overseas universities in many exciting parts of the world and past students have spent a year in Germany, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy or Hong Kong.

Our Accounting and Finance with Placement Year course enables you to put your studies into practice while learning about a particular industry. You will undertake a work placement during your third year, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a real work setting before returning to Warwick for your final year of studies. Alternatively, you can apply to study with a partner institution instead of working.

You will gain a solid grounding in core management areas and develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to operate effectively in the fast-paced world of multinational companies and global financial markets. You will be able to focus your studies in Accounting, Finance or a combination of the two, depending on your future career goals.

You will be encouraged from the outset to think critically, enabling you to analyse and interpret real-life business issues in order to devise solutions, helping to prepare you for your career in accountancy, financial services, or management. You will also have the opportunity to develop your interpersonal skills including communication, leadership and team working, to become more adaptable and resilient to change.

Study abroad

A French and History degree will allow you to select modules focusing on areas ranging from French and Francophone literature, cinema and politics. Modules also cover topics including the history of the Renaissance, the modern history of Britain, France and Russia or the history of the non-European world.
