Majors in the Department of Criminology, Sociology, and Geography are prepared for many professions including teaching, government service, law, business, research, cartography, and community planning; and for professional careers within the criminal justice system such as police, truancy and probation officers, parole officers, and correctional and research personnel.

The accounting major prepares students for rewarding careers as industrial accountants, cost analysts, controllers, tax accountants, members of financial regulatory teams such as the IRS or banking auditors, independent auditors in CPA firms, and internal auditors. A-State accounting graduates work for manufacturing firms, in government agencies, in banking, in not-for-profit entities, and in public accounting.

This MSW offers a concentration in rural based clinical social work practice. Students learn the fundamental knowledge, skills, and ethics that guide social work practice and the populations traditionally served by the profession.

Graduates of this program are:

• Prepared to acknowledge and utilize the less formal social exchange between people and systems that exist in rural communities.
• Educated on how to identify and develop resources, and how to use natural helping networks.
• Expected to employ a broad range of approaches, theories and models in their practice and to develop skills that enable them to perform multiple roles in the helping process.
• Aware of the importance of examining issues of diversity; social work values and ethics; how to identify, prevent and interrupt social and economic injustice; and the importance of community empowerment.

The Arkansas State University Masters in Exercise Science program is designed to prepare students for a variety of jobs in health, wellness, and the clinical settings through course work, practical experiences, and research opportunities. Graduates of the program will be prepared to take certification exams offered through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).  Obtaining this degree along with nationally recognized certifications will prepare individuals to work and manage commercial and corporate wellness facilities as well as work in the clinical settings.

Supply Chain Management - Concentration
The MBA with a Concentration in Supply Chain Management is designed to allow students to complement their studies in business administration with in-depth coverage of the core components of the supply chain functions of business as they relate to ?rms operating in a dynamic global business environment. Students will complete the 27 hours of the MBA core and 12 additional hours of graduate level courses in logistics.

As an interdisciplinary degree with content focused on life science, this program is amenable for those in teaching, medical technology, nursing, museum curatorial and other professions.

 Advising committees are formed to assist students in developing a program tailored to their long term professional goals and interests.

The major in economics provides an excellent background for a wide variety of careers in business and government. In addition to acceptance into their management training programs, many businesses employ the economics major to forecast economic trends and to relate changes in economic activity to the individual business. Economists are employed by various governmental bodies to conduct research into all phases of the economy.

Healthcare Management - Concentration
The MBA with a Concentration in Healthcare Management is designed to allow students to complement their studies in business administration with in-depth coverage of the core components of the healthcare administration arena and the unique issues and challenges facing healthcare organizations in the dynamic healthcare industry. Students will complete the 24 hours of the MBA core and 15 hours of graduate level courses in Healthcare Administration.

Managers perform a wide range of workplace activities, from establishing organization goals and ensuring progress towards those goals to organizing when and how activities and resources should be grouped together. Managers are asked to solve challenging workplace problems, often with limited human and financial resources. The Management major prepares students to design rewards for improved performance, set goals that motivate workers, and build an environment to create and sustain a competitive advantage.
