The B.A. in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences is for students wishing to pursue careers in fields that focus on solutions to some of society’s most pressing problems. Specializations available are Children & Society and Community Education. Courses in these specializations draw from multiple disciplines.
The mission of the Interdisciplinary Social Science Children and Society specialization is to prepare students to study, support, and work with children and their families. The program emphasizes the complex and interconnected issues and challenges faced by children and families in modern society. The broad focus enables students to explain phenomenon, solve problems, and raise new questions in ways uncommon through a single-disciplinary focus.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Our MBA program will teach you how to synthesize complex information, develop and deliver professional presentations, integrate advanced ethical reasoning with business decisions and become a skilled business analyst.
Admission to the MBA program does not require an undergraduate business degree; a number of successful MBA graduates started the program with little to no previous business coursework. However, foundational proficiency in the major functional areas of business is required to be successful in the program. These foundational proficiencies can be completed quickly through accelerated courses.
Our MBA program provides both a general view of business and a specialized focus through the development of the MBA e-Portfolio.
With eight Areas of Emphasis from which to choose, the MBA Program prepares graduates for leadership positions in a variety of managerial and organizational settings. An MBA degree with an Area of Emphasis is a 36 semester hour program, while a General MBA is 33 semester hours.
Areas of emphasis include accounting, business analytics, entrepreneurship, hospitality and tourism leadership, human resources management, information security management and supply chain logistics management.

The B.A. in History is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to research and interpret the past. Emphasis is placed upon active participation in the creative process of historical inquiry.
Students planning to go to graduate school are strongly advised to attain proficiency in foreign languages.
Students interested in obtaining certification to teach this subject area in secondary education need to contact an advisor in this department to carefully plan the course work to satisfy degree and some teacher certification requirements. A degree in this major is required for participation in teacher education certification options.

Master of Arts in Anthropology
The Anthropology Master of Arts program prepares graduates for a variety of professional positions and entrance into doctoral programs. The department’s approach combines a strong anthropological perspective, an active faculty, a vigorous research and contract program, flexibility, and many opportunities to obtain hands-on experience. The department has one of the largest and most active terrestrial and maritime archaeology programs and facilities in the Southeast. There is continuous on-going student-focused research and contracts in prehistoric, historic, coastal, and interior archaeological sites that include graduate students at all levels of responsibility.
Financial assistance includes many research assistantships in terrestrial and maritime archaeology through the Archaeology Institute, grants and contracts, internships, and the Marcus Fellowship for thesis completion.
This program requires a thesis. Students must complete all common core courses, but the remainder of their course work can be structured according to their interests with the approval of their advisor or committee. Up to 6 sh can be taken outside Anthropology.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of literary theory, British literature, American literature, poetry and rhetoric and practice writing and workshopping fiction, non-fiction, creative non-fiction and creative writing. Hone your teaching skills by teaching composition courses through our writing program.
Courses in the program cover both canonical and non-canonical works of fiction and nonfiction. You will receive broad exposure to texts from a range of historical periods and cultures. The program offers a thesis and a non-thesis track.

The B.S. specializations in Chemistry and Chemistry/Biochemistry have been approved by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and consist of courses designed to offer training in the fundamentals of chemistry. Opportunities exist for the student to take courses to prepare for a wide variety of careers in chemistry and related fields. The B.S. program is recommended for students wishing to enter graduate programs in chemistry or to find employment as professional chemists.

Master of Arts in International Affairs
The M.A. in International Affairs prepares students to confront the challenges of an increasingly globalized world. The program is well-suited for students considering or presently pursuing a military or national security career, as well as those interested in international public service or policy work. The curriculum emphasizes international politics, including relations between countries, trade and diplomatic negotiations between countries, foreign policy, strategy, security, intelligence, and military conflict. Several courses emphasize policy-making and decision-making processes, institutions, national and regional politics, culture, and diplomatic relations. The program consists of 33 semester hours plus successful completion of a comprehensive examination or a thesis. All new students should be advised by the departmental advisor. In addition to the university requirement that students maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, students must also make a 3.0 or higher GPA in five of their six core courses.

The B.A. in Psychology enables students to study human behavior. An understanding of psychological processes entails understanding the multiple influences created by the biological characteristics of the organism, the effects of learning and experience, social and cultural dynamics, and developmental change. As a scientific discipline, the study of psychology requires competence in research methodology and critical thinking. Psychology is also an applied discipline, with applications in behavioral and physical health, business, education, and law, among others. Students completing a major in psychology will be prepared to pursue a wide range of careers at the bachelor's level or to pursue advanced training in psychology or other professional schools (such as medicine and law). Students will attain a high-quality liberal arts degree focused on knowledge in the discipline of psychology, integrity in the application of that knowledge, effective project management, and excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
