Overview
Individuals who are LPNs are eligible to enroll in an accelerated program leading to an AS degree in Nursing and subsequently be in a position to take the licensing examination. The program is designed to assist these professionals’ pursuit of an Associate degree in Nursing (ADN). This program is offered once a year starting in the summer term on the Dale Mabry campus. Nursing graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and, upon successful completion, receive the RN license.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

This pathway is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship. The pathway provides students with the opportunity to engage in ideation, business and financial modeling, effectuation, rapid prototyping, and design thinking.

Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Sonography is a medical specialty that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the human body. This program focuses on abdomen-extended, obstetrics and gynecology. Physicians analyze these images to aid in diagnosis.
The diagnostic medical sonography AS degree prepares you to take the national registry examination to become a certified sonographer who provides imaging services under the supervision of a physician.
Graduates of this AS degree program are granted admission into the health sciences Bachelor's degree program at the University of North Florida.

Associate of Science in Emergency Medical Technician
If you are a licensed or licensure-eligible paramedic, or have been accepted into the paramedic program, the emergency medical services AS degree program offers you an opportunity to specialize in education, management or technology.

Course work combines classroom lecture, practical skills laboratory and actual patient clinical experiences. The lecture portion (seven credit hours) covers the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician as well as skills required by the state. The practical skills laboratory portion (three credit hours) includes application practice and performance testing in simulated patient care situations. The clinical portion (two credit hour) provides actual patient care during transport to a hospital and in the hospital setting.

Associate of Science in Respiratory Care
The respiratory care AS degree prepares you to treat patients who have difficulty breathing due to pulmonary or cardiac disease. Learn to work with premature infants, children, trauma victims and patients requiring life support. Respiratory therapists work in physician offices, home care setting, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, sleep study departments and hospitals. The need for respiratory therapists continues to increase due to a growing elderly population; environmental problems; and technological advances in the treatment of lung disease, heart attack, cancer, accident victims and premature babies.
Graduates may take the national certification and registry exams to become licensed practitioners in the US.

Associate of Arts in Building Construction Pathway
The building construction AA pathway degree is for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor's degree in building construction, development, contracting or related fields. Careers include construction manager, contractor, building inspector, owning or managing a construction firm, and a variety of jobs within the construction industry.
The Building Construction specific courses are only offered on the Dale Mabry campus.

The computer engineering technology AS degree program prepares you for an entry-level position as a computer technician. The Psychology AA pathway is for students who plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology at a college or university. This degree provides the lower division psychology major courses required at many universities while exposing students to the core principles and practices of the psychology field.
This degree enables students to develop a strong foundation in research methods, statistics and biological aspects of behavior, and will offer a variety of elective courses to help students develop their knowledge of human behavior, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Many university programs require the completion of specific courses prior to acceptance. It is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to ensure transferability.
