Fine Arts

This degree is for students who may be interested in a double major in areas such as education, marketing, computer science, or film. Students have the option of a general fine arts degree, or a specialization in design, painting, or sculpture-industrial design.

Psychology
The BA in Psychology prepares you for graduate study in psychology or a career in human service professions and behavioral research (such as in a hospital or government setting). The degree is also appropriate if you are considering work or graduate study in a wide range of fields outside of psychology, including business, education, health, law, and technology. Psychology BA students are taught to think critically about truth claims involving behavior and to reason and communicate scientifically.

A major in psychology may be applied to a variety of career paths, including advertising, business, drama, education, journalism, law, and technology, as well as advanced graduate work in psychology, health professions, law, education, business, and many other fields.

Learn how to question and analyze the social, legal, political, historical, and economic factors that influence the media industry -- and apply this in-depth knowledge to a variety of career paths or advance study in fields such as law, management, politics, and education.

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University established the LL.M. Program in Family Law in response to contemporary family law practice's increased demand for specialization and need for an interdisciplinary focus for resolving family issues. The only program of its kind in the eastern United States, and one of only three programs in the country, Hofstra Law's LL.M. Program in Family Law furthers Hofstra Law's commitment to developing skilled and compassionate family lawyers who have a thorough grounding in the issues central to the field - divorce, family violence, child custody, abuse, neglect, and support - as well as knowledge in related areas such as tax, contracts, real estate and partnership law, child psychology and treatment options.

The Bachelor of Science in Geology is designed for students who want to pursue graduate studies or professional employment in geology, environmental consulting, geotechnical consulting, or a related scientific discipline. In addition to geology courses, the BS requires additional coursework in physics, biology, chemistry, math, and computer science.

Bioengineering

Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering students concentrate in one of three areas: Biomechanics, Bioelectricity, or Pre-Med. You'll first build a foundation in universal engineering theories, mathematics, and the physical and life sciences, before moving on to courses in your area of interest:

Then you should consider studying finance, which is a great foundation for a career on Wall Street, in government, or as an entrepreneur.

As a student in our finance program, you will learn how to assess risk and use financial modeling to game out different strategies and scenarios. You will develop an understanding of how economic policy moves markets and drives values. And you will study and learn how individuals make decisions about money and investing, and how those decisions affect big-picture outcomes.

The program is designed to provide students with a sound foundation in business principles, while also ensuring they have a strong understanding of the cybersecurity field. It provides the MBA students with an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of cybersecurity as well as the interconnections between enterprise businesses and security solutions. The core coursework of cybersecurity includes threat analysis, cyber defense, penetration testing, digital forensics, privacy, regulation and policy.
