International Year One in Computer Science (1-Semester Pathway) Leading to Bachelor of Science in Computer Science - Web and Mobile Engineering

This degree prepares students for positions as high school educators, corporate chemistry reps (working with chemical testing and supplying companies), and as lab technicians. The program also serves as a foundation for a variety of graduate and doctoral programs.

The Department of Chemistry's program for the BA major in chemistry is not accredited by the American Chemical Society. This program is designed for students who need a strong foundation in chemistry but who do not anticipate working in a laboratory environment.

In the Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences program, you will develop the fundamental skills to help people who suffer from communication disorders, and prepare for advanced study to become a speech-language pathologist or audiologist who is licensed to work in settings such as schools, hospitals, rehab centers, and private practice.

Finance
As a student in our finance program, you will learn how to assess risk and use financial modeling to game out different strategies and scenarios. You will develop an understanding of how economic policy moves markets and drives values. And you will study and learn how individuals make decisions about money and investing, and how those decisions affect big-picture outcomes.

Early Childhood/Childhood Education

Students in this program combine the early childhood/childhood education major with an arts or science co-major from either Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences or the DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science.

We recommend you choose a co-major in an academic discipline that could also be taught on the secondary level. If you major in an area like English, History, Mathematics, Foreign Language, or one of the sciences, you may be able to apply directly to New York state for additional certification in secondary education in that subject area.

Students apply to this program in their sophomore year and begin the program in their junior year.

Theater Arts
For the student preparing for a career in the practice of theater as a performer, director, designer or technician. The BFA degree (in performance or production) is intended to provide a small, specialized group of such students with a high level of competence.

Information Systems

This program focuses on information systems and information technology. Students will decide on specific technologies that they are most interested in managing: Network and cyber–security (also earn CISCO certification), web and commerce, database and big data, healthcare and enterprise systems (look for our SAP certification coming soon).

The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) gives practicing engineers the competitive edge necessary to advance to management positions in leading engineering and technology firms nationwide.

Graduates of the program will have the skills necessary to pursue successful careers as engineering managers, project engineers, and product engineers in government agencies and tech-based manufacturing and service firms.

Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. This transition from an INTO Hofstra program to a university degree program is called progression.

Biology
The Bachelor of Arts is designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of biology and a strong liberal arts foundation. It is ideal for students planning to pursue graduate studies in another area, such as business, K-12 education, engineering or law.

An INTO Hofstra International Year One program in Health Science/Exercise Science will prepare you to enter your next semester of a bachelor’s degree program at Hofstra University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. This transition from an INTO Hofstra program to a university degree program is called progression.

Health Science
