Work Permit USA

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

  1. Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
  2. Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
  3. 24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.

The College Student Personnel Administration (CSPA) master's degree program provides students with the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to enable them to perform the roles of administrator, advisor, and programmer in student affairs and higher education administration. Studio Arts Wood/Metals
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

The Agronomy Management sequence emphasizes a broad knowledge of agricultural production, science, and agribusiness management. The Master of Science in Business Education (M.S.B.E.) is a professional degree designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge in either pedagogy or content. In the pedagogy intensive track, students who are licensed teachers will complete advanced courses in both business education and education. In the content intensive track, students with baccalaureate degrees who are interested in teaching at a community colleges will complete advanced courses in both business education and business. The degree does not lead to teacher licensure. Students who are seeking licensure should complete the B.S. in Business Education.

The Theatre Studies major provides you with a broad-based, hands-on education in theatre within the context of a liberal arts degree. Economics is the study of how to critically evaluate problems and make well-reasoned decisions. As such, the Economics major is particularly well suited to prepare students for the career challenges in the 21st century by helping them develop important skills, including the ability to apply a general framework of analysis for solving real-world problems, conduct mathematical and statistical analysis, work with data to address specific issues, and effectively communicate, in written and oral form, with others.

A student can earn either a B.S. or a B.A. degree in Economics. The major offers students the flexibility to select a set of courses that simultaneously satisfy the requirements of the major while focusing on a specific area such as business or pre-law.
