Interior Design
The Interior Design major prepares students to design innovative, functional, supportive and responsible interior environments that positively impact the quality of life. The curriculum develops students' skills and knowledge in color and design, drafting, space planning, building and interior systems, materials and finishes, historical interiors, building and barrier-free codes, and Auto-CAD. The needs of special populations and the mandates that regulate the field of interior design are emphasized.

Illinois State's Interior Design program is accredited by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). This prepares students for entry-level Interior Design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional Interior Design organizations. The BS or BA in Interior Design granted by Illinois State University meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).

Special Education - Specialist in Low Vision and Blindness

• Teachers of children with visual impairments work with learners who are blind or who have low vision, from preschool through high school.
• There is a severe shortage of teachers in this area. Many students in our Low Vision and Blindness sequence do not have difficulty finding a job after they graduate.

The basic curriculum is designed to thoroughly acquaint Marketing majors with the broad field of marketing and to allow focused study in narrower subfields, depending upon the students' interests and aptitudes. Students may choose Marketing electives from one or more of the following six career-track concentrations: Advertising/Promotion, Business/Industrial Marketing, Marketing Research, Retailing/Distribution, Selling/Sales Management, and Services Marketing.

Construction Management
Accredited by the American Council For Construction Education (ACCE), the Construction Management major develops leaders for the building construction industry.

Through an interdisciplinary curriculum, students receive a background in:

The program focuses on production, technical, and management capabilities rather than design and craft skills.

International Business
Illinois State University is the only public university in Illinois offering a major in International Business. If you have studied a foreign language in high school, if you want to major in business, if you are interested in the international expansion of business, then this is the right major for you!

International Business is an interdisciplinary program, combining core courses in general business and foreign languages with advanced courses in international business. Students choose a specific concentration from marketing, finance, insurance, management, business information systems, or accountancy. Advanced courses in business look not only at international activities in the different majors, but also at the way cultures affect business and the legal environments of different countries.

Accounting - Business Information Systems
The Accounting - Business Information Systems sequence is designed to prepare students for entry level accounting positions requiring significant training in business information systems. This preparation is particularly valuable in accounting consulting positions, certain auditing positions, and in many progressive industrial positions.

Global Politics is a 32-hour sequence of the master's degree in Political Science. This graduate program is designed for students interested in the increasingly interconnected politics of the modern world.

The Global Politics sequence ends in a thesis or comprehensive examination.

Mathematics Teacher Education
As a student in the Mathematics Education program at Illinois State University, you will be challenged, tested, supported, and you will be rewarded.

You will be challenged to extend your knowledge and experience in mathematics through courses taken by students completing other sequences within the department's major, as well as through courses in education. You will become a mathematician, and you will become a teacher.

Computer scientists use computers to solve problems no one has successfully solved before. Programming is at the heart of what they do, writing and designing sophisticated code. Having a strong skill set in theory, math, logic, and science is also essential to their success.

The Computer Science program at Illinois State is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

You can find a computer science job in a variety of exciting areas. Your options for a career path can include:

Computer Science at Illinois State gives you strong skills in software development. We also provide a background in computational theory, design, hardware and operating systems. You’ll learn how to use multiple programming languages on multiple operating systems.

Studio Arts Painting
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.
