Music - Music Composition
The Master of Music in Composition prepares student to build their portfolio in preparation to pursue a Ph.D.
Entering master's students typically have an undergraduate degree in Composition and have a varied portfolio of several works for different types of ensembles or media.
Opportunities for composition students include:

• RED NOTE New Music Festival, a week of new music events by visiting
• composers and ensembles from around the country
• Exclusive reading sessions for ISU composition students during RED NOTE from nationally prominent ensembles.
• Annual large ensemble readings with both the Illinois State University Wind Symphony and
• the Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra with the opportunity for select pieces to be chosen for performance.
• Chamber concerts of new student works each semester.
• Private lessons with faculty and nationally recognized guest composers.
• Frequent performances by students, faculty, and guest artists. Recent guest performers have included the Boston Brass, the Jupiter String Quartet, and violinist Rachel Barton Pine.

Geology
Geology studies how the Earth works and its history. It’s a field-based science that takes you outside the classroom and into nature. It offers plenty of variety by incorporating principles of chemistry, physics, biology, and math.

Professional geologists study earth processes like landslides, earthquakes, and rock formation. Understanding these activities is essential to sustaining life on Earth.

The Geology program at Illinois State gives you a strong foundation and awareness of these processes. Our traditional approach to teaching prepares you for graduate school or a career. Once you complete our program, you can get licensed and begin a career in the environmental, energy, and minerals industries.

The Master of Music in Music Therapy is designed to produce highly qualified and knowledgeable music therapists who have advanced training in music and its therapeutic applications. Students take classes in advanced study in music, the behavioral sciences, music therapy theory and application, and research methodology.

An MM in music therapy qualifies individuals for:

• Supervisory or coordinator positions in arts therapies
• College/university entry-level music therapy positions
• Producing and disseminating scholarly work in music therapy through presentations/publications

Graduate students with an undergraduate degree in music, may simultaneously take undergraduate deficiency courses in music therapy while pursuing a Master's degree.

Studio Arts Video
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

Food Industry Management sequence prepares students for careers in management in food industry. Food Industry Management graduates work as sales representatives, commodity merchandisers, market analysts, supply chain managers for retail food companies, agricultural business organizations, market research firms, government agencies, and financial institutions.

Explore the mysteries of the universe. From galaxies to particles, physicists study the world around us and beyond to explain how things work and exist.

The Physics major at Illinois State is broad. You’ll get a diverse curriculum that covers a variety of topics, including:

Art - Graphic Design
Graphic Design at Illinois State fosters a collaborative environment engaging you with print and emerging digital media. Our program prepares you to contribute to positive change for the betterment of society.

Students graduating from the Graphic Design program can pursue successful careers in client-based design or self-initiated research. You'll have opportunities to work at design studios, advertising agencies, and diverse corporations or institutions.

Our alumni continue to be a part of the Wonsook Kim School of Art after graduation and we continue to harness professional relationships and networking connections between them and our current students through social media and CrossPlatform, the Graphic Design student club.

Technology - Quality Management and Analytics
The sequence introduces quality management tools to enhance customer and supplier relations, strategic planning, and measurement systems to improve overall organizational performance. Students will learn and apply quantitative analytical modeling techniques to solve decision problems and risk situations faced by project managers. In addition, an overview of six sigma data-driven decision making methodologies will be introduced to gain insights into advanced quality based industrial management techniques.

Accounting - Business Information Systems
The Accounting - Business Information Systems sequence is designed to prepare students for entry level accounting positions requiring significant training in business information systems. This preparation is particularly valuable in accounting consulting positions, certain auditing positions, and in many progressive industrial positions.
