An INTO OSU Graduate Pathway program in Mechanical Engineering will prepare you to enter your next term of a master’s degree program at Oregon State University. Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering (ME) profession is dedicated to applying principles of physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics in the analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical components, devices, and systems.  Oregon State's graduate program in ME is designed to educate leaders who will develop and improve systems for transforming energy, health, materials, and information to meet the needs of society.

To be eligible for graduate studies, a baccalaureate or master’s degree in science, mathematics, or engineering is required.

Music Studies
The BM in Music Studies is designed for entering students preparing for careers in music education and performance. The curriculum provides a comprehensive and complete music education preparing students for successful careers in the arts in the 21st century creative economy.

Microbiology
Our undergraduate Microbiology program enrolls about 200 students and is the only Bachelors of Science degree in MB in Oregon.  Microbiology majors study beneficial and disease-causing bacteria, archaea, viruses and parasites in the context of human, plant and animal disease and the environment. We offer two options for majors that wish to specialize. A Pre-Medicine Option helps students interested in a career in the medical field to prepare for professional school. The Aquatic Microbiology Option provides students interested in environmental sciences with a background in the microbial processes of aquatic systems and prepares them for careers in environmental resource fields in industry, government and academia.

Geography and geospatial science provide approaches and tools to address pressing issues affecting communities, nations and the planet. At OSU students combine geography — the study of human and Earth system processes in space and time — and geospatial science — the collection, analysis, and presentation of spatial data — to analyze and interpret change in the environment and human society. The program has three areas of excellence: geospatial analysis and modeling, dynamic Earth processes, and global change risk and resilience. Graduates work in government, industry, and non-governmental organizations, addressing climate change, environmental hazards, natural resources, and their human dimensions. Picture yourself in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Geography working with some of the most creative and renowned faculty in the country.

Renewable materials like wood are essential to human existence. The demand for the energy and thousands of consumer and industrial products made from wood and other renewable materials is growing, especially as society becomes more aware of sustainability and green issues.

To meet the global challenges of the 21st Century we must be more innovative in making, marketing and using products from renewable resources while minimizing environmental impacts. We need to learn more about complex renewable materials like wood and dream of new ways that they can help us in the future. Our domestic industry must develop and implement new technology and marketing strategies to remain competitive.

The graduate programs in wood science are designed for the future scientists, technologists and businesspersons who will meet the challenge of new knowledge and innovation.

A diversity of faculty interests, broadened and reinforced by cooperation between CBEE and other engineering departments and research centers on campus, makes tailored individual programs possible. The department originates and encourages programs ranging from those that are classically chemical engineering to those that are distinctly interdisciplinary.

Marine Studies
Are you interested in pursuing studies about social, political, and cultural issues? Do you want to explore the relationships between humans and the environment while learning about the coasts and ocean?

The College of Liberal Art's Marine Studies Degree will focus on the social, political, and cultural issues of coasts and oceans in the context of a meaningful understanding of marine natural science. Students will receive a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science.

Bioresource Research
BioResource Research (BRR) is an interdisciplinary biosciences major centered around student research. Students take biosciences core courses, complete an option (bioscience/agriculture/natural resource specialization) and do a research project of their choice with a faculty mentor.
