Biochemistry
Like chemistry, our biochemistry program follows a coursework sequence endorsed by the American Chemical Society (ACS), which is highly respected distinction as you go on to graduate and professional work. You can also join Suffolk's award-winning student chapters of the ACS, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), or our Health Professions Club. These clubs enjoy activities ranging from invited scientist lectures to community service projects. You might also volunteer at the nearby Museum of Science or at the Cambridge Science Festival. Additionally, opportunities are available to attend the national meetings of the ACS and ASBMB to learn about current research from experts in the field and even present your research in a national forum.
Suffolk's biochemistry major positions you well for careers in rapidly developing fields in the life sciences. More than half of our recent graduates go on to work as lab technicians and research assistants in academic, biotech/pharma, and hospital labs. Many other alumni go on to health professional schools to become nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, and doctors, or to a variety of graduate programs in biochemistry, food science, and pharmacology.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

Graduate Pathway in Law (2-Semester Pathway) Leading to Master of Law - General
An INTO Suffolk Graduate Pathway program in Law or Global Law and Technology will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at Suffolk University.
Upon successful completion of an INTO Suffolk Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, students may enter their second semester of graduate study at Suffolk University. This transition from an INTO Suffolk Pathway program to a university degree program is called progression.
Master of Laws - General
The general Master of Laws program is for students who have already completed a law degree and want to enhance their legal skills by focusing on a particular field or an emerging area of law.
Launched in 2012 to capitalize on the depth and breadth of Suffolk Law's curriculum, this LLM offers you maximum flexibility. You can create your own track in a field of your choosing or select courses from Suffolk's recognized areas of expertise, including dispute resolution and civil litigation, business law and financial services, biomedical and health law, intellectual property, or international law.

Bachelor of Science in Philosophy
The Department of Philosophy offers a variety of courses in which you'll study the principles of critical thinking and argumentation that help us address these questions. Here you can take classes on topics from logic to the philosophy of art, from existentialism to environmental ethics, from feminism to the philosophy of race and gender. We also feature courses outside the western tradition, including Chinese philosophy, Buddhism, African philosophy, and Native American religion. The curriculum has two paths: corporate entrepreneurship and launching new ventures.

As an economics major at Suffolk University, you’ll be part of a vibrant community of students, scholars, and professors who synthesize data to solve social issues and substantiate policy decisions. Our program provides a broad study of economics, from micro-and macroeconomics to statistics. With these skills, you can embark on a career in international relations, finance, government, or public policy.

Art embodies the rich tapestry of human history and cultures across the world. Art history examines how images and monuments communicate and how they function in society: to teach and to move; to exalt and to incite.
As an art history major, you'll gain access to other cultures, other eras, and other ways of thinking. You'll also get ready for your junior year abroad and for an entire lifetime of thinking and living with global and historical perspectives.
Art history majors develop a keen eye plus excellent research, analytic, critical thinking, and communication skills—launching pads for many careers. Suffolk’s art history graduates have gone on to pursue advanced studies in art history, archive management, museum studies, and law. When you pursue your Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling (MSMHC) at Suffolk University, you’ll gain core counseling, case conceptualization, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills. Plus, you’ll train in a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques so you can meet your clients’ diverse needs. Our program’s established reputation with area agencies and institutions means you’ll be highly sought-after once you graduate.
At Suffolk, you’ll learn to assess, diagnose, and treat clients with a variety of mental health issues. Through our rigorous scientist-practitioner model, you’ll also learn to incorporate research into everyday practice and apply empirically supported treatment approaches in your work. Our downtown Boston location maximizes your access to networking, internship, and employment opportunities at nearby hospitals and treatment centers, and puts you closer to underserved populations.
You'll train to function in a variety of community mental health settings (e.g., clinics, hospitals, prisons, college counseling centers, day treatment programs, rehabilitation facilities, outreach programs, after-care centers, etc.). As you systematically complete the curriculum, you'll develop a competency base from which to perform effectively in your area of specialization.
