Immerse yourself in the Spanish language while learning various cultures through the ages via Hispanic the Literature emphasis. Students seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Hispanic Literature emphasis will take language courses in both Spanish and Portuguese while studying Hispanic literature. Outside of the classroom, students hone their Spanish language conversation skills in Spanish Club or their Portuguese-speaking skills in Bate Papo. Students who select the Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with a Geology emphasis take an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the planet. In this top-ranked program, students learn scientific research skills; gain experience working with data and technology in the field and in the laboratory; and study the Earth's origin and history, as well as the planet's components and how they interact with one another. Geology students participate in a Capstone Summer Field Camp in the later part of their program that provides hands-on experience applying their content knowledge in the field. As part of their conducted large-ensemble requirement, vocalists usually begin by singing in the University Singers/Kantorei and Honor Choir.
