Explore the foundations of criminal justice ?thoroughly examining critical topics such as mental health law, youth in the justice system, public policy and national security. Criminal Justice Studies touches on all factors related to crime, the law and the justice system. Coursework introduces students to police, court and corrections operations; crime and public policy; juvenile justice; mental health law; white-collar crime; national security; and intelligence policies. Sponsored by the Rombach Institute on Crime, Delinquency and Corrections, this Bachelor of Science program helps students develop the ability to think critically about criminal justice issues, a necessity in an increasingly complex and politicized society. If you want to keep communities and individuals healthy, consider majoring in Public Health with a Health Promotion emphasis. Public health educators provide outreach and programming to populations and communities regarding health and safety concerns. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The Health Promotion emphasis is one of several areas of concentration within the major. Students who choose Health Promotion as their emphasis focus on education and intervention methods, community health concerns, community wellness initiatives, and school health and safety. If you have a strong drive and entrepreneurial spirit, set your aspirations on the highly lauded, one-year New Venture Development Program.  Students wishing to add a second major to another course of study at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management have the option of applying to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. The New Venture Development Program at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship offers selected students a one-year immersion curriculum during their senior year. In collaboration with their peers and with entrepreneurs serving as mentors, students build a new venture from the ground up and hone their entrepreneurial and business leadership skill set in the process. Ranked in the nation's top 10 programs, the B.S.B.A. in Entrepreneurship is highly selective, and accepted students graduate with a competitive edge.

Geographers study the relationships between people and their environments. They explore the environmental, social, political and economic processes that shape places and how the places that people create, in turn, shape our lives. The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts in Geography stands at the crossroads of physical and social sciences; students may focus on specific world landscapes and cultures or on areas such as urban, political, economic or cultural geography, or on human-environment relations. Geography students learn to analyze data and policy in order to address and research critical questions about the world they live in.

Make a difference in the lives of dual-language youth by majoring in Elementary Education with a bilingual endorsement. Elementary educators with a bilingual endorsement help bilingual students gain foundational footing in core subjects. In addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Education, students in the two-year program also earn an Elementary Certificate K-8 with a bilingual endorsement in English and Spanish. This credential allows them to teach in bilingual or dual-language classrooms or traditional settings. During the program, students split time between the University of Arizona and a local K-8 school. At the elementary school, they immerse themselves in Spanish and gain teaching experience with diverse language learners. Students also have the opportunity to student-teach in Mexico.

If you're interested in environmental health, protection of natural resources, and safety for workers and communities, consider a Public Health major with an Environmental and Occupational Health emphasis. Public health professionals specializing in environmental and occupational health help protect communities and workers from health risks such as contaminates or hazardous living or working conditions. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.
